This is a thread in which you can post any serial numbered items that you have found or that you have lost to your Parkers.
For example, post here a set of orphaned barrels that are in your collection or the missing set of Damascus barrels that should have come with that DHE that you found out about when you got your PGCA letter.
Be sure to separate the serial number by at least one space on each side so that it is searchable.

Hello George, Are these barrels all alone ??? No butt stock, no frame, no fore end ??? Jent
jentpmitchell@msn.com
right
Thats why they are listed here.
They are orphans.
This is the place to list orphans.

The first weak point of this idea: for every orphaned set of barrels, there is a buyer who doesn't own the other half of the gun. If your barrels are for sale, let us know. If they are not for sale except to the owner of the rest of the gun, let us know also.

I am looking for a set of barrels from my C grade live bird gun. The number is 128134. The serialization lists them as Titanic but my letter says Damascus. It would really make me happy to find them.

Point taken
But if i just wanted to sell them i could have done that 20 years ago and many times in between my acquisition. I have gotten PMs already trying to buy them.
If they guy who owned your missing barrels had sold them to a chop shop, you would not have the happy reunion you just had???
If they were for sale I would have listed them in the For Sale section.

Great idea for starting a thread to match up orphan parts. I'll post serial numbers to some skeleton steel butt plates, and if you have the matching gun that it was made for I'll trade it to you for one of like grade and condition. If your Parker letters from Canada or the Minnesota/Dakotas area you might want to check your serial number, your odds are better. These came off grades D to B. I just want to be clear, these aren't for sale.

I also have one with 2 serial numbers, 35,177 and 88,761. That one stays though. It is off a B grade that was originally sold to an American pro shooter that shot under the name of Robin Hood. I bought a 0 frame 16 GH with the Robin Hood trigger guard out of Ontario, and it was about a year before I realized I had already picked up the SSBP off the same gun from western Canada. The letter says the buyer supplied the butt plate for his new purchase.
I've got a few more around here somewhere. If they turn up I'll post the serial numbers.

Nice post Bob
To everyone, for the future, leave out the comma in the serial number. That will make the SN searchable in our forum database. If you open up the search tab and type in a SN , the entire database will be searched for anything about your number.

Whatever happened to the edit function on our posts? I was trying to remove the commas in the serial numbers of the SSBPs I listed above but had to repost them. Just wanted to make it easier to copy and paste into the search function. Didn't we used to be able to re-open and make changes? Thanks.

There are instances in the stock and order books of Parker Brothers reusing barrels on guns of a different serial number. Sometimes it is hard to tell whether or not the mismatched parts were renumbered.

I have a VH 16 ga 1 frame serial number 158321 with a mismatched fore end. The fore end's number is 204898 and might be from a 1 1/2 frame gun. It fits perfectly and works the same. The gun was originally shipped to Minnesota and I bought the gun in the early 1990's out of somewhere in MN as well. I would like to get everything back to its original gun provided they still work as intended. The gun is a shooter-not a looker- and it shoots very well. I can't see the numbers when I shoot so they don't bother me. Still it would be nice to correct the record.
Please PM me as I do not check this thread often.

Bill, I bought them from a walk in at the Greensboro gun show. He was walking around and came by our table with a set of barrels in a sleeve I ask what he had and he pulled them out. Of course I bought them the were in good condition. I also posted the barrels on the WTB site for a possible trade for the 1 frame 16ga Vulcan brls I am looking for Now here is the kicker those barrels must have been made along with the gun for a left handed shooter, because the barrels are Right barrel I/C and the Left Full BWT Right brl .042 Left brl .050 at the thinnest place measured to 15" in from muzzle. On top of that he was from Pilot Mountain and told me he had a 16ga hammer gun if I would like to see it he would bring it the next day. He did and also brought a grade 2 10ga that my son bought. I am flabbergasted that someone owns the " rest of the story" I will e-mail you Bill

No big deal, I should be able to find a forend. Sorry I don't have the 16 gauge barrels you are looking for. Yes, the Lost and Found thread works. For the readers, the gun letters to a store in Berwick, PA. and was made with 30" cylinder and full barrels, just about like Gary described them. 7 pounds, 8 ounces. This is the back end that wore the two sets of Bernard barrels that were reunited with the lost CH "Charleston Gun" last year. So now that story comes full circle.

The letter says Laminated steel?
That is not laminated in the pictures is it?
Dean Romig
03-30-2013, 06:12 AM
Yes it is George. There were/are various patterns of Laminated Steel depending on the era of manufacture because of the various manufacturers or sources Parker Bros. bought them from.
Interesting also is the fact that it is lister as a PT in the Ser book.
George M. Purtill
03-30-2013, 08:11 AM
Very pretty pattern for what people normally think of as dull Laminated steel.
David Holes
03-30-2013, 09:12 PM
I am curious how many other ph guns have laminated instead of twist?
It probably is one of the latest laminated ph's.
Dean Romig
03-30-2013, 09:42 PM
Where that one is listed as a PT and not a L1 (which it in fact is) we may never know the exact number of Grade 1 hammerless Parkers made with Laminated Steel barrels. Twist Steel barrels are what was used for composit barrels. The Parker Steel fluid steel barrels was, to the best of my knowledge, the only other barrel steel used on the Grade 1 hammerless guns. I haven't looked but The Parker Story may list some with Laminated Steel barrels. What does the top rib legend say about the barrel steel on this one?
David Holes
03-30-2013, 09:52 PM
The legend has the word laminated written on it. This was an ebay gun sold in seperate pieces. When I looked up the number in serialization book and it was listed as twist, I was not sure the pieces were number matching. But they are. Now the only thing not original to the gun will be the stock if we can find one to fit. The stock heads are shaped differently, early verses later production.

David and Dean, the "authors" put a note in the Grade 1 section about Laminated Steel barrels listed in the stock books as PT grade. In the Grade 1 20 gauge Twist section, they noted that 20 twenty gauge Laminated Steel guns were listed as PT but noted in the stock books as having Laminated Steel barrels. I found this note after adding one of these Laminated Steel guns to my collection a few years ago. My gun is an all original very early 20 gauge in the 70s, a sweet gun with pits in the bores. The rib legend is "Laminated Steel".

Dean Romig
04-06-2013, 10:17 AM
Right, there were no hammerless Parkers in the 1870's.
Bill Murphy
04-06-2013, 12:06 PM
Yes, my little baby is in the 70,000 series, made in 1892. According to the SB, it is a real early hammerless 20. 71,179 was ordered January 15, 1892 by Salem G. LeValley in Buffalo, NY. It is a PH 20, 28" barrels bored full and full. By 1915, it was in Salisbury, MD and was sent back for a restock. It was still in Maryland when I found it. LeValley was a gun and sporting goods dealer in Buffalo, died in 1903 at age 61.
David Holes
04-06-2013, 12:13 PM
Bill and Dean, You guys are obviously in an area where more parkers exist then I am. And you also have a lot more time involved. So, how often do you see a hammerless laminated gun? Looking in the serialization book shows very few small bore laminated of any type parker. Dave
Bill Murphy
04-06-2013, 05:11 PM
This is the first one I have ever seen, smallbore or not smallbore. No one is in a hotbed of Parkers unless they use the internet or go to some good gun shows. You have to get out there.
Dean Romig
04-06-2013, 07:49 PM
Bill's right - ther're where you find them but you have to get out there and look. The Internet (Thank you Al Gore) is my first resource and word of mouth is a close second. This is the first Laminated Steel barreled hammerless that I've ever heard of too.

Just a suggestion here. When you buy or look at a new Parker that is missing original parts, do a search on the serial number to see if something is on this site that would interest you. That should be the way this thread works. I have some numbers to post in the next few days. Maybe those of you with orphan parts could post serial numbers for us to search. Remember, separate the numbers from all surrounding words, numbers, and punctuation so the search function will identify the number.

I just took in a bunch of forends and some buttstocks from a local gentleman that has had them for many years. Some forends are complete and some are wood with just tip. I guess many of them came from a local gun shop that was putting BTFEs on Parker's and they were just tossing the splinter wood with tip in a drawer.
Here is what I have for the time being that I can identify.
AHE forend wood with tip.
Serial 148347
GH Complete forend
Serial 120473
DH all forend metal with tip. No wood.
Serial 85914
GHE forend wood with tip
Serial 237867
DHE forend wood with tip
Serial 94658
DH forend. Missing only tip
Serial 76321
GHE buttstock. Pistol grip.
Serial 237867
GE buttstock. Straight grip
Serial 229419
DH buttstock. Pistol grip
Serial 241128
DH buttstock. Pistol grip
Serial 194658

To add to my last post, i am also missing skeleton butt plate with spurs with same serial numbers and the frame is a #1. parts where thrown away by my great grandmother when my great uncle left the gun on the table to clean. hope that the parts somehow were found by somebody or somehow survived these ruff years and hope that somebody has them. if anybody has something close to this type of grade and gun or even have these parts, i would buy them off your hands if you are willing to sell them :)

Looking to reunite an original Parker shotgun purchased by my great-grandfather in 1887 with its 2nd barrel set that was lost/misplaced before 1960. The original gun was purchased in 1887 and is in my possession. The 2nd barrel set was made in 1890 (cylinder and light) and most likely has the same serial number as the gun, # 49675. This barrel may or may not have a "2" at the end indicating they are a second set of barrels.
I am interested in purchasing this missing barrel set and can be contacted at grady2go@gmail.com should you know its whereabouts.
Thanks

I have a VH 16 s/n 158321 . The gun letters to a large store in St Paul, MN. I bought the gun about 20 years ago from a dealer in Minnesota. It has a VH fore end on it with s/n 204898 which fits perfectly and works the same. The gun itself has almost no finish on it. It is bright silver from use and the wood and checkering are equally well overused. The fore end looks like it might be from a 12 ga (1 1/2 frame) VH. When I talked to the dealer about it he had no idea about what had happened. I would like to find the original for my VH and re-unite my fore end with its gun.

You fellows keep forgetting that your serial number is not available on a "SEARCH" if you put punctuation or other letters next to your serial numbers in your post. As this thread gets longer, fewer people will read the whole thread to locate their parts. The search function will be the only way for them to locate parts. SEPARATE YOUR SERIAL NUMBERS FROM THE REST OF YOUR POST.

I picked up a very nice set of 12 ga. DH damascus barrels and forearm at a gun show last winter. The serial is 82813 . They are 30" with perfect bores and good pattern/color. The fore end wood is above average and the engraving very crisp.
Is anyone looking for this set or does anyone have the rest of the gun for sale? I am only interested in getting these gun parts reunited and do not wish to sell individually.

I'll add one more to the list. It is only 2 numbers off one of the others listed. This one is 134429 . According to the serialization book it is off a DH 20 gauge with 30" barrels and a straight grip.

I have some information on Parkers which may have been parted out.
Some background: I had ordered a trigger plate and some other parts for 56901 from Numrich, and, due to some ordering quirk, I received three orders. For the record, I received trigger plates from 63538 (swirl engraving), 139465 (pheasant/bird engraving), and from 175201 (plane). Also, forend tips received were from 2358? (plane), 87674 (engraved), and from 88603 (engraved).
On another purchase on ebay I received a forend lock from 223184.
It can be presumed that these guns had been parted out. I thought that the Association might be keeping records of such findings and wanted to list this information for the benefit of our members.
I’m “restoring” 56901, a grade E 10 gauge, with a #2 frame. Sometime in the distant past the correct #2 barrels were replaced with #3 10 gauge 32 inch Damascus Steel barrels from 58692. Don’t know why or what happened to 58692 but it was likely parted out too. I’d very much like to obtain a set of #2 10 gauge 32 inch Damascus Steel barrels to return the gun to its original configuration. Can anyone help? I’d also like to obtain a set of #2 12 gauge steel barrels to allow me to occasionally actually shoot the gun. Can anyone help here too?

Two corrections to my earlier listing follow:
First, the bottom/trigger plate numbered 175201 should be 115201. Rechecked this time with my glasses on.
Second, I checked my Parker Letter and the original 10 ga barrels for 56901 were 30 in. So I'm looking for a pair of Damascus Steel 10 ga. #2 frame 30 in barrels, not 32 in.

Local guy was advertising theses barrels so I picked them up. They are damascus thought he serialization book said this gun was supplied with twist barrels, it also said a second set of barrels was supplied so these must be them.
They are a bit rough, with the left barrel having some dents and what looks a bulge that may have been attempted to repair. To my unpracticed I I don't know that they can be fixed, but if someone has this gun maybe they want these barrels and forend. Forend is complete, but all the checkering is worn off.

Talk about a DUH! moment, I pulled out a DHE 12 that was in the back of the safe to make room for the guns I just cleaned from a recent hunting trip. Well to my surprise I noticed that the forend lug and forend iron were both stamped with a 2. Hmmm.... went to my letter from 2007 and the gun left the factory with 30" barrels, so the current barrels which are 28" must have been added later. Never noticed this in the 10 or so years I've had this gun, no mention of them in the letter.
So I'm looking for 30" barrels and forend for 198638.
Thanks for looking.

They will fit a Repro... I've done it. And I believe the frame size is of no significance in ejector parts.

Dean if my poor memory is correct the sear slides are frame size specific and I believe the ejectors as well since the center to center on the chambers will vary with frame size...Roger

Maybe Brian will give us an experienced opinion. I think I've read where he had indicated that the ejector mechanism in the forend is not frame size specific.
.
Roger Whitfield
01-31-2016, 01:19 PM
That was an experienced statement not an opinion. Others with Parker ejector experience are more than welcome to comment on the subject....
The sear slides are frame size specific since it must align with the plunger pins that exit the front of the frame at the same center to center measurement as the firing pins depending on frame size. The ejectors which eject the spent cartridge from the chamber are gauge and frame size specific. There are parts in an ejector forend such as hammers and mainsprings that are not frame size specific. Kindest regards,Roger
Dean Romig

Right Roger - that's exactly what I said "the ejector mechanism in the forend is not frame size specific." Most of the parts you reference are in the barrels or in the frame.

Yes they did, I purchased forend a week earlier with hope to keep them together. So would like to reunite with whomever receives barrels. Dave

David - it was weird to me because the barrels were offered by a different seller than the receiver as I recall.

George started this "Lost and Found list" as a means for people to rejoin lost parts, but the sellers of that barrel, and action seems determined to separate the parts. The buyer of the barrel wasn't even the same buyer as the guy who bought the receiver, so I wouldn't hold out any hopes of bringing your fore end back to the gun it was born with. (although an admirable gesture)

You're right George. They are 80 miles apart, both in KY. Clearly, there's a chop shop ring operating out of them hills.

I'm looking for serial # 84040 20ga 28" (or whatever length they may currently be) damascus barrels. Would also be interested in any serial number O frame 20ga 28" damascus ejector barrels. Name your price.
I'm still looking for a set of 28" damascus 20ga "0" frame ejector barrels.
If you can help me or know someone who could, I'll pay a finders fee if I purchase the barrels. The barrels must be damascus and at least 28" and have ejectors. However I will buy any set of barrels with serial number 84040 regardless of the length or gauge. Non ejector "0" frame damascus barrels of at least 28" and 16 or smaller gauge will be considered also.
Thanks, David

Dean, A second set were ordered in 1879 according to Order Book No. 5, among other requests. Actually had to send pictures to Mr. Bishop to figure out what I have. Its a long shot at best..... and I've taken some very "long shots" before, at least at grouse, its worth a try.:)
