I just picked up a No. 1 frame 12g. GH S/N 70,756.

28" Damascus Barrels. Fishtail top lever. Needs a buttstock. Broken off at the wrist (will get that fixed :)) but all else on the gun is very nice.

Anyway... I also have this No. 1 frame P grade with Vickers barrels on it that is a bit earlier (in the 60,000's range) than the new GH.
I figured for kicks to see how the GH barrels fit on the PH or if they fit at all.
To my surprise, they go right on, lock up tight and have perfect fit in every way around the action. Like they were make for the gun.

The Vickers barrels from the PH also go onto the GH. But the barrel lug is a but snug on those.

brian: congrats! it happens now and then. what a tribute to parker's manufacturing consistancy and quality control! barrel weights of ph and gh barrels must be similar?

Yeah, they came off as easy as they went on. I was aware that the cocking hook can be an issue sometimes. Not here.

The primary hang up with the Vickers barrels on the GH is that it seems like the width of the underlug is just barely wide enough and it is a tight fit on the GH frame. But it does go on as well and come off too. Just not as smooth as an open as it should be.

I am not sure how these Vickers barrels were constructed. The underlug has a Parker S/N stamped on it. Also in the 70,000 range if I remember correctly, The number is from a Damascus gun. But there is no sign of any sleeving, and the chambers are 2-3/4 inches. So it looks like they made the barrels all from scratch and just reused a Parker underlug. Even the forend loop is different, even though it does use a Parker forend, it is different.

brian: i also have a ph on #1 frame with twist and vickers barrels. interestingly, serial number is also in the 60,000's...anyway, my vickers barrels have italian proofs. do yours?
