It looks like a L stamped in front of the left trigger. Has anyone seen this on any other Parker? Would this have been something that a Miller trigger or Parker single trigger had?

L is for left or maybe it's the "Lucky" trigger or possibly it's just an upside down 7:D I just couldn't resist sorry:whistle: Did you get a letter on the gun?? :)

Possibly originally a single selective trigger gun and when the selector switch is in the rear position the Left barrel will fire.

O.P. you concur??? L is Polish for Right therefor if it's right that would make you wrong and we are back to L for Left or Lucky. How's that for concur?

I thought you experts said you had to have the trigger plate swapped out when converting from a single trigger gun to a double trigger gun.

no sir not if it is a parker single trigger. miller yes you need a new floor plate or have to be a very good welder/ metal worker to get it done.
Parker SST to DT can be done on the same floor plate.

I believe when the selector is in the forward position the left barrel is fired.

I agree with Mr Truitt with regards to a Parker single trigger guns ability to be converted to double triggers using the original floor plate. I have a 12 gage with double triggers that has the same L in the front and R to the rear of the left trigger and it definitely sports its original floor plate.

Why the L & R by the double triggers? The safety also has a R-S-L. That makes sense but why the letters at the triggers?

Chuck,Could this gun have had a Parker single trigger installed at the factory ie: L&R on the trigger plate then converted to a Miller single trigger ie: L-S-R on the safety. Don't know much about release triggers could they be selected to fire left or right barrels first?

That could very well be the answer... earlier Parker single selective trigger and subsequently a Miller trigger installed.

The L-S-R on the tang definately indicates an early Miller SST.

Yup, Parker trigger to Miller trigger to double triggers. Chuck, let me guess, you found this gun in Pennsylvania. I'll go one more. The stock has a pieced comb and a recoil pad installed with a hatchet.
