Ladies and Gentlemen,

A special round of applause is in order to the volunteers of our organization that made our Southern SXS experience as delightful as it was. Carl Brandt did a wonderful job organizing and executing this years shooting events. This was his first year on the job and it was outstanding! Congrats and thank you, Carl.

As well, a special thanks to our other volunteers including Ed Morgan (selling raffle tickets) Deb Frey and Benjamin Hall (signups and generally three of the most productive members we have!)

To our members that displayed guns. There were many interesting Parker guns with letters that really stoked some interest. Thank you for participating and sharing your interesting Parker Guns.

I tried to congratulate Carl Brandt for his work on the Challenge, but I know it wasn't enough praise. Equal praise goes to Mark Conrad who generously gave up the position Carl now holds.

Yup, Carl Brandt is the guy who, after Mark Conrad's years of leadership, is making the Challenge, and the PGCA presence at the Southern Side by Side, what it is. I'm sure none of us who attended this year can wait for next year's event. The attendance, participation, and interest in our event continues to amaze all of us. The LCSCA participation and interest is as great as ours. You could not believe the guns both of our organizations display in our communal tent. This year, I think the quality and value of guns displayed by LCSCA surpassed ours, if that is possible. Come on down to Georgetown and to Sanford next year.

I have attended the Southern for the last 6 years and the Parker-L.C.Smith is what I look foward to. Always the best time and this year was no exception. My hat is off to all that made the Parker-L.C. Smith possible.

Thank you all so much. Your kind words and praise are deeply appreciated.

Now as for next year. I plan to put the arm on a number of you to help staff the sign-up table and for other jobs like photography, shoot referee, etc. Stay tuned and we'll see if we can make it even more interesting!

Thanks again,
Carl.
