I received today an invitation from Les Palmer of the Colorado Gun Collectors Association for the PGCA to display at the May 19&20 show at the Denver Expo Center. About 5 years ago, Charlie Herzog and I, with the spearheading of Mark Vollinger, drove out from Kansas City and from south of St Louis and brought about 25 guns for display. We did that for a couple years in the hope of helping establish a Parker presence in the Rocky Mountain states. It didn't continue after Mark moved to Los Angeles, but we hear comments from Rocky Mountain residents that they would like to see a Parker presence there.

This would be a great opportunity for those folks to get a tradition going. The Colorado Collectors can rent a display table for a small amount and if several members could get their Parkers together, it might be enjoyable and would help spread the Parker message.

It would be great to see some members "Step up" and put on a PGCA display at this show. If someone would take the lead on this the PGCA will supply the needed membership materials etc.

We are always in need of new members increasing their level of involvement to help the PGCA grow.

Any takers??

Bruce, I am doing a 3 table display at the OGCA show early may, Theme hammer guns. I need to know who made the parker table cloths. Last year I had the loan of three, but would like to buy three for myself, and it only promotes the PGCA at these events. The more exposure we get the more your old Parker will be worth and thats a fact. Hope to see some PGCA guys in Ohio, will be in the display area. Gary

Msg sent Gary. Yes, that's right. We have some deals working with Pheasants Forever that may lead to even more exposure. We have a couple DGJ articles in the writing, one on C grades and the other on CH's resurrected D 20 hammer and 12 B hammer guns. Good things happening.

Bruce: I have a standing committment to the Rocky Mountain Vintagers for the show. This year we will have two sale tables as well, and I and a few other vintagers will be manning the tables for the three days of the show. There is no way I could contribute anything more than incidental support for a PGCA display, much as I would like to. BTW, we were told in December that the show was sold out, so you might want to confirm with Les the status of availability. Best.

How nice to see something "Parker" in the West (albeit 1200 miles from my house). The Denver show is great ( I've been once 15 years ago). Thanks for doing this guys.

Anyone know who had the incredible collection of A1' that used to setup at the Colorado show? I used to just stand in front of that display and drool. I talked to the owner's son once, very nice fellow, he told me all about the 28 ga. A1 they had just added to the collection.

That was probably Dick Steward, now deceased, from Colorado Springs. He is mentioned with a photo in V2. TPS. I believe his collection has long since been dispersed. When I met him, he told me probably a thousand Parkers had passed through his hands, and he no longer kept anything lower than a B grade. A true gentleman and friend to everything Parker. Requiescant in pace.

Dick Steward of colorado springs. He has since passed away. I always wondered what happened to that great Parker display board he had. Toward the end he started collection L C Smiths and had quite a few High grade Smiths.

The guns were sold and the display board was thrown away.

Another damned outrage! Who can forget the great display cabinet boards built by PGCA Founder Forrest Marshall's brother in law that were used to display Forrest's primo pieces at the PGCA Annual Meeting at the Richmond VA gun show years ago? Best of all were the metal trapunto images of the Parker mailing label woodcock and opened gun that adorned the top of each one. These were hammered in sheet copper from the inside out (!) then colored per the original(s). When Forrest dispersed his collection they disappeared. Where are they now???
