Howdy,
I acquired this Parker Several years back. I had not really given it any attention until a few weeks back when I decided to find out what year it was made. I was told several years ago "not to get my hopes up " as the gun had "no real collector value" due to the chip repair near the butt stock and the damaged screws.
Anyway I found this Helpful Forum looking up the year of this old shotgun.
Here are the pics

This Parker also came with this case and cleaning kit.

This gun had belonged to my Wife's Grandfather who was an Avid Outdoorsman in the State of Colorado. I hope you enjoy the pictures.

I hope to hell I look that good when i am 121 years old. I am looking forward to hearing what the experts say about it.

Book says they should be 30" barrels. Tell whomever gave you that great appraisal to send me all his junk. I think you have a great piece and I love the Leg-O-Mutton case too.

Scott - the barrels are 30" measured end to end with the action broke open. The weight is in the 6 lb range. (give or take a few ounces)

A couple of more pics.

Thanks for the comments, The same appraiser really tore down my Winchester 1892 (a Real Fine Gun ) 32-20 caliber and two Colt SA's in the same . Perhaps he thought I was looking to sell them cheap beings I was in Las Vegas.

A PGCA letter may tell you whether the gun originally came from Shoverling Daly and Gales, as is marked on your case. An NH grade with six pound barrels is a great gun to shoot and going through a phase of popularity right now. The bad screws and damaged trigger plate are not a fatal flaw, can be repaired by a talented gunsmith, as can the wood damage. In addition, your serial number is a "palindrome", something only strange people find interesting. I have palindrome guns that I find interesting, like my Model 42 Winchester Skeet Grade #787. They are not easy to find.

My 3-frame NH-Grade 10-gauge is a year newer and doesn't have a "fishtail" top-lever. My barrels are weight stamped 5 9.

Looks like an interesting mismatch on the twist pattern between barrels, unless it's just the lighting. Nice gun. Great old case.

Richard- The barrels definitely have a "mismatch" pattern, kinda like a beauty mark !

Ok fellas, as I stated in my introductory I know nothing of Parker's or any Shotguns.
Are the barrels to be weighed by themselves ? Or is the weight of the complete gun ?
I weighed the whole thing .

A 6 lb 10 guage would have to be quite rare, right Bill ?

the 6 1 stamped on the barrel flats is the Unstruck barrel weight. Actual finished barrel weight differs very slightly.

Wow! That looks to be a great gun with very few flaws given it's age, plus a neat old case and cleaning kit, and a family heirloom to boot! Don't be afraid to shoot it, the old 10's are a blast, I have a similiar gun and use it a lot. Do you hunt waterfowl or turkey, that would be a great gun for it. As Bill said the wood repair could be improved to be invisible or near invisible and the screws can be cleaned up or replaced. Go through the reloading forum on this website there is lots of information on the 2 7/8" 10ga. If you want to get into reloading for this gun shoot me a PM anytime and I'll walk you through it. Have fun!

I am sure the 6# weight he mentioned is just the barrels.
Overall the gun is a pretty good shape. Yeah, the floorplate screws are buggared up, but the rest look pretty nice.
