I just looked at a C grade 410 in pristine condition. How many of these exist?

I did not have my books with me so i appreciate you guys ding the research. I will have to take pictures for my friend. Today I saw him with a 35mm with a view finder. He wishes he were living when these guns were made. He's an LC Smith guy and got the gun via Cliff White. Looks like new.

There are way more upgrades than originals. The Robert Runge upgrades are quite valuable.

Thanks. I did not take the gun apart and examine it, but I will to take pictures. How can i tell if it is a Runge? did he hide his name in the engraving or somewhere on the gun?

A serial number will tell us if it is original or an upgrade if there are any surviving records of the gun.

Post the pictures and the serial number and you may get some opinions.

The Robert Runge signature, if present, is occasionally or more often nearly invisible to the naked eye.

Or it may look like this ,once you have a chance to take the gun apart and take a good look at her ! This is a BHE 410 Upgrade from a VHE ,by Robert Runge and Del Grego.

Every "real" Del Grego/Runge upgraded Parker I have examined has been clearly marked, per 'Brush Buster's" photo above, regardless of grade or gauge. Runge's signature on factory-engraved Remington guns other than Parkers can be hard to find: on his D- and F- grade repeating shotguns and rifles his initials are often found standing freestyle along the rim of a rock or the base of a clump of grass in game scenes; other times they are prominently spelled out "RPR" within a small oval centered in the lower orbit of the border of the game scene. I never trusted descriptions of guns at sales or in catalogs for auctions "attributed to Robert Runge, Remington Master Engraver", that were "so nearly identical in style and execution" that they "almost certainly" were his work. You would be surprised at how many are not.
