The PGCA will have tables available again this year at the Southern SXS for PGCA members to display Parker Shotguns and ephemera.

The theme for this event display is "Back and Forth Guns and guns with interesting PGCA Letters." Guns that went back and forth to the factory for updates, repair, modifications, refinishing etc. and guns that have interesting research letters associated with them for whatever reason.

All guns will be displayed with their corresponding PGCA research letter. More details will follow.

We are looking forward to an exciting event!

Josh, do you want to make this post a "sticky" that remains at the top for information purposes, or would you like replies and comments?

Bill,
I hope you and the lovely Linda will be able to attend this years event and you will be displaying your gun with the gold hearts. It's been a while since I've seen that gun and hope you consider bringing it along.

I've only seen it once, at the Southern the first year you had it, but I understand you've had it 'prettied up' since then... I'd really like to see it again.

I can't describe the "prettied up" as a restoration. I'm not big on restorations. The buttplate was restored by Ken Hurst and Bill Hambridge, an heroic venture, especially by my friend Ken. The 34" Parker Special Steel barrels were restored by Dewey Vicknair. The 30" Damascus barrels were given a "condition matching" rebrowning by Dewey. The gold balls on the Damascus barrels were not touched, and none of the original gold plating on the gun was restored. Again, thanks to Daryl Middlebrook and Doug Turnbull for assisting me with the acquisition of this great gun.

I think I remember Murphy saying he was photographically challanged at least as far as posting pictures,:rotf:

Does the gun have to have a research letter to back up the changes? I have what started out as a GH 16ga 0 frame. It went back to Parker and was changed to a straight grip, SST, ejectors, SSBP, BTF with reinforced lug and it's Damascuss. Other Parker noteables have looked at this and all agree it's Parker work.

A Parker Pages article includes many pictures of the "Gold Hearts" gun. Someone will give the PP reference.
