Here is what I think I know about this gun.
SN 28278 is 1883
serial numbers match on all parts
frame size 3 and barrel measurements .77+ tells me it is a 10 gauge
Grade 0 T model
Twist barrels 30"
This gun was found in Gma's closet last year and I am sure it stood there in the corner untouched for 30+ years. This gun has seen a lot of use based on the wear and tear. There is a one inch piece of wood broken off the corner of the front stock and lots of little nicks and dings. Otherwise it seems to be in good shape.

What I don't know.
rough idea of value
I don't see a lot of 10 gauge hammer guns is this rare? or at least fewer than other gauges
The barrel is marked Twist does that mean "Twist" or "Plain Twist"

Darryl, Nice find. Looks to be a nice family gun. !0 ga. hammer guns are not rare. You could buy 5 of them today on the net for well under $1000.00 each. I wouldn't worry about what its worth I would just be glad I could keep it in the family. Dave

Sounds like a good excuse to build a wall display case.
