I don't think that is the original stock, looks like a restock to me.

I agree with Eric. The stock has been replaced. Nice looking gun!

Should have said "looks like D grade"as it has the tear drops on the side panels.#s under trigger tang match with barrels, forend wood..
Never have seen this butt before either.Maybe incoming letter will clear up..will advise..Thanks,

Actually the style of the stock is more D grade than anything. By means of the drop points. But the checkering pattern is really more G grade anyway. G grade type pattern on the forend and V grade style on the wrist.

I vote a custom re-stock.

Mr. Dudley,
Dom you think the DF1279 stamped on the flats have to do with a restock?
The #s under trigger guard match the gun..a real mystery but one I can live with.

As previously mentioned regarding your extra stamping, it is hard to tell what that is about. Bear in mind that the numbers being stamped into the wood under the guard it not a tell tale sign that it is original. I know that if I am doing a restoration type restock, I restamp the numbers to match the original best I can.
