It has been in the family for 5 generations. Originally owned by my Great Great Grandfather.

The forum is very helpful in learning the history of this shotgun.

What I have learned:
Mfg Date 1891
Frame size 1
Believe it is a Grade 0
Barrel:
Weight 3lbs 9oz
Twisted Steel
30” length

Jim,
You are a lucky man to have a family gun like that and in such very nice condition as well.

What is evident is that your ancestors knew how to take care of a gun!!!! Congratulations and I hope you pass it on in the same condition! David

You have a fine piece of your family's history in your hands in way above average condition. Please care for it, keep it in the family & pass it on to future generations. If the bores are in similar condition as the exterior it won't hurt to take it out to the clays or trap range from time to time with the proper RST loads.

Congratulations and Best Regards, George
