I wish to thank everyone that has been a friend of Ivory Beads, but my wifes health has made it impossible to continue with the business.
Jerry will not carry on the store without me, so April 1 will be our last day on premisis, actually closing for business March 15.
Jerry and I wish to thank all of our Parker friends, and as life members we may show up at some of the events.
We will be in Las Vegas for the Antique Arms Show, as well as S.C.I.
Once again thanks to all of you................................Jim Thynne

I feel lucky to have visited the store once. Thanks for letting me smoke a cigar in the viewing room with you Jim. There aren't many places in California where that's legal. Good luck to your wife. Best Brian

very sorry to hear about your wife's health, -- family first, as it should be, but saddly is not always.
you should take some certain pride in leaving the business with the level of respect you have rightfully earned.

Jim, my first Parker I purchased many years ago was from you. It's a DHE 32", beavertail, pistolgrip with a Miller trigger. I still have it and don't expect to part with it anytime soon. It was a pleasure doing business with both you and Jerry and I always enjoy talking to you guys at the gun events we attend. I will deeply miss seeing you guys there! I wish you the very best.

Jim,
Your phone call to me the other day broke my heart when you informed me of your wifes situation and the store closing.
I'll always think fondly of the first time I walked into the store and you greeted me, a total stranger with "Welcome, make yourself at home, the shop is yours, look at anything you want"
The next thing I knew I was being invited on your Argentina dove hunt and fine friendship has developed from it.
You, Jerry & Glenda are very special people and the doublegun communitity will feel the loss of your shop.
All the best,
Your Argentina shooting pal,
Paul
p.s.
I'll buy you the best cigar we can find in Cordoba in June!!!! :)

Ivory Beads - certainly one of the few iconic gun dealers of our era. You have been good friends to the entire Parker collecting community and you will be missed for a long time to come. Prayers to you and your wife and best wishes for the future, whatever your and Jerry's plans may be.

Thank you Mr. Thynne for taking the time to answer a novices questions over the phone as if I was standing right there in your gun room. Having only my grandfathers 10GA you
patiently informed me of the gun and pointed me the the PGCA. My prayers go out to you and your family.

I think every PGCA member would be delighted to see a nice article on the history of Ivory Beads, along with some nice pictures, in a future issue of Parker Pages. t would be a nice way to honor Jim and Jerry as they have always been great friends of the Parker Gun Collectors Association as well as being members too.
