I hope you guys are sitting down. You all ain't gonna believe this.. You will but you know what I mean!!
I'm waiting for delivery on My First Trojan ser # 181193. She is a 20 ga with.... are you ready??? 30 inch bbls. Yes 30 inch bbls.
You guys in the know know that Volume 1 says no Trojans with 30 inch bbls.
Not only does it have 30 inch bbls but is one of two ordered by A. W. du Bray!!!!
Mr. Conrad was kind enough to take a peek at the books before he receives my research letter request. In the meantime I'm dying to get this gun in my hands.

one of the great things about collecting guns is finding the exceptions...every time i hear "they never did that", i am reminded of posts like this...

I finally got my Trojan 20 ga. She's not perfect but what a sweet little gun. I would be surprised if she weights 6 pounds. The LOP is 14 inches and the DAH is an even 3 inches. The chambers are 2-1/2 inches and chokes are rt. bbl. Full and Lt. bbl. Imp Mod. Gonna have to change that... And she needs a good cleaning!!!

That's a pretty rare Parker to be messing with the original chokes. What does the order book say about the chokes?

Murph, I'm still waiting on the letter from Mr Conrad. Can't wait to see what it says.
It would be something if it mentioned the screws on the top rib!!
Bill Murphy

The picture shows two screws in the rib. Are there more? Be sure to scan the PGCA letter for us.

Just the two screws in the picture. And I will post the research letter and copy of the order book page. Mr Conrad thinks I should write an article on the gun.

Darn! Another one with Screws. Been seeing a lot of that lately. Very nice find though! Great Gun.

Anyone want one with screws? I have a minty VHE 20, late Remington gun with single trigger and beavertail with four 5-40 holes one inch apart. It's the highest condition Parker I own. I'm thinking about four ivory beads.

Bill, for that gun, I think I could deal with the screws.

That's what I was thinking. I already order a flat of RST's 7-1/2 shot. I can't do anything this weekend since I have to take Nash to a dog show, but next weekend, is on!!

Here you go Murph, not much to read. Too bad someone opened up the lt. bbl
to ImpMod.

The letter is quite interesting, in my opinion. A special order Trojan is a rare bird for one. Another point is that the great Captain couldn't talk the customer into a graded gun for just a few bucks more. It's a great Trojan variation that I would love to own.

Angel I wouldn't mess with the chokes at all. Shoot spreaders to open the pattern or let get out a little farther.
Nice find congrats.

Thanks Richrd. I found out this weekend what happens if the bird is too close. Poor thing decintegrated.
Murph, that's one thing I found interesting. Capt. du Bray selling a lowly Trojan. I guess in 1917 a sale is a sale.

You would have to ask Mark if this order was part of a larger group of guns. Some orders for Trojans are twenty to fifty guns.

According to the order book this was part of a three gun order. Two 20ga and a 16ga.

A special order 30" Trojan 20. Falls into the never say never catagory I think. Thanks for sharing that letter with us Angel, congrats on a cool gun.
