That is certainly a nicer than average Trojan stick of wood on the 12-gauge. Thanks for showing this great trio.

The lack of the Parker Bros. Engraving on the frame sides would hint at Remington production, but the 16g. Box says Meriden on it. Were these Remington guns? Did the Remington Trojans have Parker on the bottom like the other grades?

Beautiful Guns! Thanks for sharing.

Mama Mole, Papa Mole, and Baby Mole were in their burrough outside Farmer Jones' house. Mama Mole puts her nose up and follows it to the entrance, sticks here head out and says "Mmmmmmm, I smell pancakes!" Papa Mole sticks his head out of the entrance with Mama Mole and says "Mmmmmmmmmm, I smell coffee!" Baby Mole is trying to get his head out to sample the smells but can't because Papa Mole and Mama Mole are already there. He pushes and shoves but can't get his head out. Finally he says "All I smell is molasses!"

The very latest Trojans had the "PARKER" marking on the bottom of the receiver. They are a fairly scarce item. As for the box marked "Meriden", most Remington Parkers were made in Meriden. Parkers in the serial number range of the 16 in the box were made in Meriden. Some were not sold until the move to Ilion.

Roger Rule, in The Rifleman's Rifle, says that the mark of the truly advanced Model 70 collector is that he won't succumb to the temptation to unwrap the bolt from its packing paper to insert into the receiver of a NIB Pre-64 70. Food for thought.

Just out of curiousity what do you think the value of the 16 guage is?

Ed Muderlak's mint 12 gauge in box Trojan sold at auction for almost $11,000 if I recall correctly. A somewhat less than mint example, still in the correct box, but in a smaller gauge, may sell for a similar price.
