Does anyone have any information about O.R. Dickey? I looked through all of the Sporting Life clips, there are alot of listings about where he was shooting and his scores, but not much about him personaly. Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Chris

Winner GAH ; Parker "sales rep" ; noted in the Czar gun sale; picture with other GAH winners on cover of PP about 3 years ago.

Placed orders for some of the most interesting Parkers in the order books. Orren R. Dickey was a serious gun dealer. Because he ordered so many Parkers for his customers, it is very hard to pin down which were his personal guns.

Dickey also convey loaner Parkers to major competitors at tournaments.

Looks like he was a rep for VL&D in 1914

Carl Von Lengerke, one of the best-known of the trade representatives in the past, connected with the United States Cartridge Company, will be among the missing at the Westy Hogans shoot for the first time in years, owing to his duties in the sales department. O. R. Dickey, the veteran from Boston, will look after the interests of this company.

Drew, it sounds more like he was taking Carl Von Lengerke's place as a U.S.C. rep.

You are probably correct Bill. O.R. was shooting USCC shells when he won the 1896 GAH

http://www.la84foundation.org/SportsLibrary/SportingLife/1896/VOL_27_NO_02/SL2702020.pdf

"O. R. Dickey, of Boston. Mass., winner used a very handsome Parker Bros, hammerless gun, of the pigeon model, and his load consisted of 50 grains, or about 3 1/2 drams by measure, of American "E. C." powder, 1 trap wad, one 3/8 inch pink felt, one 1/4-inch pink edge, and 1 1/8 ounce of No. 7 chilled shot in the United States Cartridge Co.'s "Rapid" shells, 2 3/4 inches in length."

Bill & Chris: where is his AHE?
