Yesterday I went to Elk Creek Sporting Club to shoot a few clays. The only guns I had available to me were my 870 remington and the Parker 12ga hammer gun i just purchased. I only took the parker because i had never shot it. The 870 didnt get used much. We loved the Parker.

Affirmative! Even if I come home empty handed from grouse hunting, I know I did it with class. Yes, even the no-frills Trojan is classy. Especially if it is a 20 gauge. Enjoy!

I'm sure this is all old news to most here that has appreciated Parkers for years but my newly aquired 12 ga hammer I feel is far superior to my 870 even though it was made in 1877 !! No it cant shoot a 3" magnaum slug but theres something to be said about form and function.

Indeed! I am amazed at how much (I am not swift with %s) finish yours has. Mine also has all of the barrel blue and would have all the case colors, if the previous owner hadn't carried it in one hand! At least, that is how I figured the colors faded the way they did. That is a wonderful Trojan, Dave! High condition field grade guns seem to be few and far between, and their price tags reflect it! Matt, my first Parker was an 1877 Lifter in 12 gauge. My budget does not allow collecting of Parkers, so I ended up using it as part of the swap for my Trojan. I still have my 1879 Grade 2 in 10 gauge, though. It is addicting, as others have pointed out.

Mark, Dont get too excited the gun has been refinished..:) I bought this little 26" 20 gauge Trojan from a local gunshop here in CT 2 years ago after it lanquished on Gunbroker for over a year. I picked it up on a Thurday drove up to camp on Friday night and a couple hours into it first hunt Saturday morning killed a grouse. I didn't even know if the gun fired to that point.... This old Trojan has been making me look good like that for couple of years now and I wouldn't part with it for the world. At 6lbs. 2 oz. you can carry it all day with one hand. Just wonderful....Dean has the guns twin. We think they were redone by the same hand. The 20 is on the bottom.

That reminds me of when my identical twin godsons start saying "You're ugly!" to each other. Only the opposite in this case.
Nice guns all.
