If so- check out a real rare bird on G.I.-- item 100207559- only fotos of this super-rare Parker Grade show it closed- no close ups of the water table and barrel flats markings- sn, etc- it does have a single trigger (make unknown) and a raised ventilated rib, and possibly selective ejectors- it is a 12 gauge AAEE grade with 28" barrels and it has more gold than the late Liz Taylor ever had stuffed into her jewel box by all her many hubbies! Wow--last time I saw a shotgun wearing all that gold was at a skeet field- gentleman had a Browning 12 O/U Midas Grade-:cool::cool::cool::cool::bigbye:

Francis, despite what the seller says, this is not an AAHE, I'm sure nobody would confuse this with a real AAHE. This is more accurately a heavily customized Parker that stands on its own and bears little resemblance to any original gun I know.

People may or may not like it and it will find its value. Some may find it very attractive.

Yeah, it's a vhe that was customized by Pachmayr and on the cover of "Guns" magazine back in '69, I believe.

Best, Austin Thanks Austin- you are correct- about 20 years ort so ago- DU Sponsors could buy raffle tickets at maybe $50/each- by each of the 50 states, as Frank and Augie P had donated 50 "dolled up" guns- mainly side-bys- possibly a few O/U's-- you will, I am sure, appreciate the irony here- as a fellow Michigan DU sponsor name of Larry Parker won the MI State gun with one ticket (all it takes) it was a M21 12 gauge 30" VR with false sidelock plates, all gold inlay and engraving-- Not the M21 I'd want to take afield for SD pheasants or WI ducks and Geese at Horicon- later, as his gals approached college- he sold it- it was valued at almost $18.5K when he won it-- and he had to pay the capital gains tax on the difference between that appraised figure and the $50 for his ticket- Ouch!!!

Does it look like the stock had a piece of wood added or am I seeing things if I didn't know better, I'd almost swear the camera angle and flash bounce was "set up" to disguise this- sure looks like it to me--Dealer is somewhere in Illinois- too bad we lost Ed Muderlak- we could get him to do a "reece-run" to Just Target Guns- or perhaps- Just Tacky Guns- and check it out- everyone has their own tastes of course- but all that garish gold work- recalls what Patton said about a "Cheap pimp in a New Orleans Bordello with Mother-of-Pearl grips on his pistol"-- And to be fair, I have seen in both the Houchin's book on Elsies, and the Snyder book on Ithacas, some of those fine guns in uber-high grades with similar garish gold work- Not my 'thing"

Of course, reflecting on what one of my top three Generals that didn't serve in my beloved USMC- went Army, which is fine with me--I can only reflect on the late George S. Patton Jr. and his brash-outspoken manner, and wonder if there is, indeed, such a thing as an Expensive Pimp in the same Big Easy scenario---Patton did spend a lot of time at both Fort Polk in LA, and Fort Benning in GA before Decv 7th 1941-- huummmmm!!!!:cool::cool:

There are at least several PGCA members who have purist gun collections that also own Pachmayr custom Parkers. IMHO they are attractive guns in their own right.

I've been asked several times by people who have enough money to have whatever they want to suggest a Parker to them, and they say they want a bunch of gold on it. For those folks, a good choice is a Pachmayr custom Parker.

A couple years ago Ivory Beads had a 32" DHE that Pachmayr upgraded with fancy wood and BT forend. I believe a vent rib may have been added also. It was a very nice gun and the upgrade was done in good taste. It was offered at around $5k.

The DU magazine, unlike Field & Stream and others I may read, does NOT have a "letters to the editors" section. If they did, I might be tempted to ask for a research article on how many winners of those 50 special Pachmayr upgraded guns still own them, if they have ever shot them- either for clays or game birds--Last time I was in Cody and visited the museum, was about two summers after the big wildfires of 1988 that hit Yellowstone- if memory serves..:bigbye::bigbye:

I agree. I also think they're a bit over the top in calling it an "Invincible" upgrade without it having a dressed hinge pin.
