I just acquired a Trojan witrh Twist Barrels and have gladly added it to the collection
12ga, 13 7/8" lop, chambered for (I think) 2 5/8"? pistol grip and ribbed butt plat. I checked my copy of the TPS and found a small amount mentioned. Any further information or comments would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Lloyd

Lloyd, What great find! I had heard about these guns. How about some more pictures? Maybe a write up for Parker Pages? Our membership would just love to read about that great gun!

Its possibly an Iver Johnson ordered gun. Get a research letter. Jim Hall owns one. An unusual item of Parker esoterica.
The X markings on the gun, I don't know what to make of that. You might contact him and ask. He had done some research on these guns and told me about them. I understand Iver Johnson ordered forty of them and sold them at their store, maybe they got them at close out prices, the books might tell. I don't know how many are known today.

On 8/5/2010, I posted photos of Jim Hall's Twist barreled Trojan, and re-post them here now. I stopped by Jimmy's place in tidewater Virginia on my departure from the BSA Nat'l Jamboree at Ft A P Hill and got to see his wonderful collection and gun room.
Forty were made, on an Iver Johnson order.
As you can see it is also a 1 frame 12ga, with X stamps. His has a Miller single trigger. I don't know how many still exist today, perhaps Jim knows.

LLoyd, the same order that included your gun also included several V Grade guns with ten gauge Damascus barrels. I have seen the Trojan Twist guns but have not seen one of the VH Damascus tens. The Trojans were $22 and the VH guns were $25. Iver Johnson was not only a preferred, volume customer, they helped Parker Brothers clean up their obsolete parts. Iver Johnson has bought Parker shotguns for as little as $19.

This evening I sat down and measured the chokes to the gu and found a nice solid full and modified choking. Additionally the Hosford gauge showed a min wall thickness of the barrels to be 35 thou. (30" barrels)
All looks good. I filled in the forms and sent in for letters for the Tojan Twist barreled gun and a Parker P Grade, twist barrels, 16 ga, O frame (26" Barrels)
Will update when the PGCA letters arrive.

Hi Dave
I have plenty of rst shells. I do like collecting, cleaning and playing with them.
I just can't wait to get out and shoot it.

Just to avoid confusion, the guns were ordered by Iver Johnson Sporting Goods, successors to John. P. Lovell, Boston and not to be confused with Iver Johnson Arms
