I just talked to Chuck Brunner and he picked up some nice Parkers and Fox's at the trade show in Atlanta. Some of the candy include a VH 410 w/ball grip (I wish I had the change for that one!), DHE 20 2 bbl set, VHE 28 00 frame and 80% case color:eek: Some nice small bore Fox's as well but they don't get me going like a Parker does.

The DHE 20 two barrel set made me clean my keyboard yesterday from the drool all over it. To bad the original 30" barrels were cut back to 27" but at least it was a factory job.

I would love to own that gun!!

I would love to have a 410 preferably a skeet gun but for the limited use it would get I just can't justify the cost. The DHE 20 has just a wonderfull piece of wood. Good wood IMHO is better than engraveing.

Jack may have been talking about his beloved (and freebie, at least 1 of them) Model 21's (aka- a Stevens 311 dressed up for the prom) but I agree- good wood. grain, checkering with no run-overs and solid wood to metal fit gets my vote every time, although the fine guns for sale at Green's (or even Greene's) guns are WAAAAAY outta my reach. But just 'cause a man's on a diet, don't mean he can't look over the menu!!:bigbye:

Hello Steve ,Thank you ,This particular gun is an original VHE 410 , This gun is from the collection of Otis Odom ,one of the early , and from what I understand Greatest of Parker Collectors ! I know there are those on our Forum that knew him personally ,I did not ! With that said Robert Runge was commissioned by Mr. Odom to take this particular original and new condition VHE and build it into a " BHE Grade gun " It is beautiful and the workmanship is second to none ,it is a pleasure to behold ! I am very pleased to have the opportunity to be the new Care Taker of this Fine Firearm for a while ! I appreciate your post and appreciate the opportunity to describe the gun . I actually met with Chuck Brunner today to purchase the beautiful, Round Knob VH 410 he is advertising and ask him to Please bring this gun along to look at ,WELL ,The rest is History ! Russ

No question at all about that being a fine example of Robert Runge's engraving - very nice!

Well Russ, you finally got your high-grade .410 even if it isn't the one you had originally lusted after.

Please show more pictures of your new B... lots more pictures.

Good Morning Dean , I got home from buying the gun yesterday afternoon and saw this thread and thought I would take a few pics. and post them just for a little fun ! The other 410 that Chuck has right now really is a Great Gun ,any one contemplating a 410 should really take a look at her ! I only have these couple of pics. right at the moment and our Archery season starts today ,when I get in from hunting or in the near future ,I will take some nice pics. of the gun and post them on a new Thread for anyone that would be interested in taking a good look at her ! Russ congrats on the BHE. I talked to Chuck yesterday and he had said he sold it. I have the big sister to that gun a BH 28 that also belonged to Otis Odem. The 410 will stay on my wish list for a while yet as after the Southern and Hausmanns I have added four very nice guns and have a Parker 20 project going on so it's always good to have something to lust after.

Rich, how many units for that .410? Russ, that's one beautiful Runge upgrade; guess you won't be looking for a Huglu now.

Russ Jackson

Fred Thank you , No I won't be looking for another 410 at least not for a while ,but it was a great suggestion ! I had many reccomendations and appreciated each one of them ,but after some Honest Soul Searching ,no matter what I looked at ,I just kept coming to the same conclusion ,it just has to be a Parker ! If not, hold off until you can get what you want ! When the latest of Chucks offerings came up ,I decided whatever I needed to do with the exception of selling my CHE 20 or my 00 Frame DHE 28 ,I was going to make this work and just go with it and not look back ,I ask Chuck to bring both 410 guns and I feel very good with the decision " Even the next Day " so it must have been right . Just can't own them all , just wish we could !:) Russ

On a clear day I can see Chuck Brunner's house from my upper deck. I have always been able to distract my view by thinking of things other that what is in that house.

Russ ...did you think the VH 410 was to light....wippy ? I own a repro 410, PG-DT BTF It comes in at 6lbs 4oz and feels like my 20ga repro......I shoot it very well.....

Rich Anderson
10-01-2011, 06:34 PM
Eric I gave Chuck YOUR number concerning a little DH 28 he recently came by, that way you can sell me my Powell back:whistle:

A 410 is way to many units of plasma to even consider:nono:

I'll tell you Kenny ,The VH felt great ,I once had a , 00 Framed ,VHE 28 Ga. that had a very thin Straight Stock ,and 26" Barrels that weighed in around 5Lb. 8 Oz. and I couldn't hit much with it ,I would stop my swing constantly ,and would be swinging over my intended flight path for some reason ,I always felt as if the gun was whippy ,but the VH 410 Just felt wonderful and was even lighter at 5 Lb. 4 Oz. according to Chuck ,Of course I didn't shoot the gun ,but it felt nice when you swung her and had a very comfortable solid feel , the gun I bought is a few ounces heavier and has a wonderful feel as well but it was the engraving that got me ,I would have been very very happy with the other as well ! I believe if some one is truly intended on buying a 410 and handles the little gun it will be gone ! Russ
