That is a very interesting gun that needs a PGCA letter of provenance.

I have a 32 inch three frame twelve that weighs 9 3/4 pounds,
Bill; do you think a letter provides equal provenance to a chain of custody?

It's another piece of the puzzle. I have a gun that has "chain of ownership" provenance that is very interesting, but was not congruent with Parker Brothers information. When years went by and extensive research was done, the connection between the PB information and chain of ownership was found. The whole picture fell together and created a completed puzzle.

Nice woodcock'n gun :-)
I would say you have a gun that was ordered to be a very heavy 12ga, probably intended for use as a fowler. A three frame was most likely used to help arrive at a desired weight ordered by a customer for a 12ga gun. Your gun is not in the serialization book but records exist so you can get a research letter. Three frame 12's are "desireable" to several folks here. A D grade with ejectors, sound nice. Show us some pictures if you can.
