(The American Sale) by Rock Island Auction this past Saturday seemed to be a success for Rock Island and sellers.

I didn't follow real closely but did tune in during Lots 150 thru 165. Of particular interest were lot 157,162, & 163.

Strong prices in my opinion, specifically a hammer price of 50K for a 28" 12 gauge Ithaca 7E purportedly ordered by Jack Dempsey (Lot 162)

One observation while following along, many bids seemed to be Floor Bids, meaning the auction must have been well attended, was anyone able to attend ??

I watched at the beginning to see lot 15 the Colt hammer double rifle that went for 160k plus the add ons and then I watched again later from about 150 to 163 .

I think the floor bids are coming from RIA people. They are bidding bids already submitted prior to the auction or bids being called in.
