Just a question to the group here. I haven't been to a southern side by side (Sanford. NC 2026) so am curious as to if there is trading and sales of personal SxS guns happening as part of the weekend?
Thank you for any thoughts.

You can find individuals with guns for sale. Just look for folks carrying a gun or gun case and ask if they are selling. There are people who go with that being their main reason for going. And some of the collector groups often have guns around for sale. Be proactive and talk to folks and you may uncover just what you are looking for.

And of course there will be something like 50 - 75 vendors in the tents with guns for sale.

Typically if I have something I wish to sell I make it known a couple weeks before on here and if someone expresses an intrest I’ll take it along . But my reason for being there isn’t to make sales , so I don’t usually take stuff just to be taking it .

All you need to know is where Robin Hollow , Josh , Allgood , August and Fuetrel are located plus the guy from Florida whose name evades me at the moment . There are others of course but those guys mentioned cover the spectrum quite well .

Are PGCA members permitted to display guns for sale in the PGCA booth?

I think that’s frowned on , but I could be wrong .

Wasn't there some chatter about the organizer 'speaking" to some guys selling in the parking lot?

Not at the Southern.

Someone had a sign up behind their car I think telling of 3 or 4 items for sale and was asked to not do that , but it wasn’t in the tent .

Yeah there was in 2024 .
I don't think it was approved to do so with a for sale tag or sticker on it.

The AH Fox Collectors can place members guns for sale in our booth because we pay the full rent for our booth space.

That explains it. PGCA gets a gratis booth, so the proprietors make the rules. Maybe PGCA should pay the freight so its members can make some trades and display their treasures. It's not too late to change the rules for this year.

What is the cost for booth Bill?

Why incur a major expense so a few members can sell guns on the Association’s dime? We already share a huge tent with LCS. No reason to rent space and have to watch over a booth for 4 days.

The first year I brought guns down I think it was 2021 . Think I had close to two dozen shotguns with me , most were to shoot as I wasn’t sure what I wanted for the course . But I did bring five or six that could be bought . But I never mentioned it or made an effort . Anymore I bring nothing someone hasn’t expressed an intrest in before we get there .

Wasn't there some chatter about the organizer 'speaking" to some guys selling in the parking lot?
A few years ago, I got yelled at after talking about buying/selling/trading back by the Parker tent 5 stand parking area. I honestly didn't even think I was doing anything wrong at the time. I was just excited to be talking about Parkers and possibly getting another one.
Myself and the other person were given a lecture about how vendors spend money to rent out tables and we would be asked to leave if we were "buying/selling". I certainly wasn't intentionally trying to break any rules. If you know me you know that's just not my personality, I was bothered by the "talking to" I received as I honestly didn't know what I didn't know.
So please take that under advisement.
