I thought I would share this with the group. Here is a GH 12ga, #2 frame made in 1893. This was the subject of a post by David Livesay “Tennessee Dave” because of the unique floor plate engraving which was not the standard G grade engraving.

This Parker had 30” Vulcan steel non-factory replacement barrels that did not fit very well. Per the serialization book, it should have 32” damascus barrels. When I saw David’s post on the gun I knew I want to get it if possible, know I might have or could find some good barrels for it.

David helped me make this happen and before too long the Parker was on its way to Rhode Island. Thank you, David! I have a few orphan sets of barrels I was hoping would work. I did not have a set of 32” Damascus barrels but my set of #2 frame 32” twist barrels snapped right on. I took it out shooting yesterday and was impressed. The twist barrels are tight IC and tight Mod.

While I would still like to find a set of 32” damascus barrels(please let me know if you know of some). This is now a nice useable Parker that is usable again and that I can shoot well.

I will bring to the Southern.

Nice story and I love the fact the engraving is different from the standard G, well done.

How cool -now it needs a name

I’m suggesting “the lone tree duck hole gun”!

That's a great name for it Rick! Thanks!

I am ordering a letter this week, I don't know why I haven't done that yet. There are worn initials engraved on the stock shield.
