Top lever position when closed.

I hear people talking about the position of the top lever when the gun is closed meaning that the gun has not been shot a lot. My question is, how far is too far right of center or is there any reason to be concerned. The following picture is of a 12 Ga. Trojan I am in the process of buying. (Funds have been sent, awaiting shipment)

I was told by a reputable member here that Parker top levers correlation to amount of use a gun has had and it’s functionality is not as correlated as other makers. Is this not true?

I guess for reference I have a dh 12 that has been put back on face 3 times and the lever is slightly right of center.

Judging by the condition of your Trojan, I would say that lever position is the way it left the factory.

There may be some dirt in the locking lug and lug recess area.

That lever is not fully closed. You can see that the concave in the rib is not lined up with that on the lever. Lever position on a parker is not like on a Fox or Smith with rotory bolts.

I see what you are saying Brian. Hopefully there's just a little dirt in there that needs cleaned up. If so, I will have that sorted out shortly after I get it in my hands. The seller said he has had it since 97, and has never fired the gun.
