I replied today to a post on my thread started 12.15.25 but as it's on P. 3 of the thread, it's pretty well buried This concerns requests to see the research letter on 13271, 1878, grade G/2, hammer, lifter, 10 ga, No. 2 frame, Damascus, straight stock. Research letter says:

"Parker shotgun, serial number 13271, was ordered by Thos. Carter on January 23, 1882 and shipped on February 1, 1882. According to Parker Bros. Order Book No. 12, it was a $80 Dollar Grade, Lifter Action Hammer Gun, 10-gauge. It featured Damascus steel barrels with a length of 30 inches.
The stock configuration was a straight grip. The order was part of a large order by Carter. The order was taken by Charles Eddy Parker.
The price was $80.00."

I remember reading a bit about Thomas Carter in the past. What was his location? Out west somewhere?

Google AI says "In the late 1800s, Thomas (Theo) Carter was a prominent frontier merchant and trading post operator based in Salt Lake City, Utah, who served as a notable dealer of Parker Brothers shotguns."
