Are there pictures anywhere of the exact butt plate Parker used with each frame size?

Was this a hard-set rule, or where there variances over the years of manufacture?

Did Parker ever serial number the inside of the butt plate to the gun it went on?

(Questions referring to the dog head butt plates)

Thanks :)

There is a butt plate discussion with pictures in The Parker Story. The most used frame size for three sizes of butt plates is stamped in the back of those three varieties of butt plate. Those sizes are 0, 1, and 2. There is some migration among actual frame sizes those butt plates are used on. No serial numbers on any butt plate I have seen.

Discovered on the back side of a DHBP was the last three digits of the SN 108603. Not sure how it was applied, possibly just lead/graphite pencil as an assembly control measure.

Just had a look at 145522 and it is the same thing. Single digit 5 on left and 22 on right. When two guns approx 40,000 numbers apart show the same thing, it looks like a factory control procedure when fitting.
Cheers,
