I recently picked up a Savage 219 single shot in .22 Hornet. This is a break action rifle and looks a lot like the old Savage/Stevens 94 except it's hammerless. As there's not a lot of wood supporting the action, I've been advised to acraglas the mating surfaces and I'm willing to tackle this myself. I've looked for videos but haven't found any that are specific to glassing a shotgun stock. The stock doesn't look oil-soaked but I haven't removed the stock yet. Any suggestions? Thanks!

There is really no reason to go through that on the gun.

I agree with Brian. There is no recoil to worry about causing a crack.

Yeah, I know... felt recoil for a .22 Hornet feels like getting punched by the Stay Puft Marshmallow baby. But Garnett Stancil wrote the book on these Savage 219s and has probably examined more of them than anyone else on the planet. So I'm sticking with his recommendation.
