Way less than the $1000 they brought a few years ago. I haven't seen a set sell for a while so my answer is "I don't know."

It’s getting to be a smaller market and the shipping is a killer. If you can get $800 shipped in today’s market that would be good.

I sold my set which was complete and with binders and with both index readers for $750. I delivered them to the buyer at a distance of about 60 miles. Shipping is a non-starter. They are frightfully heavy and would require a number of boxes Due to the weight.

Both Bills and Matt are spot on - they don't bring what they used to and the best possible arrangement is to agree on a selling price beforehand and deliver them on site (e.g., Hausmann's, Rock Mountain, Southern SxS & etc.). Then buyer sees what he is getting re: condition and completeness and seller can hang tough or negotiate as appropriate.

I packed Linda's set in wine boxes and sent them "media mail" fairly inexpensively. But, of course, I sold them at the height of the market a few volumes lighter.

The reason I asked is that a good friend, significantly younger than me, asked if I would consider selling. I am not anxious to sell, but, would sell to this person. I would know that they landed with a true Parker and Side by Side enthusiast.
At 84 I'm going to have start thinking of selling "stuff".

Hey Bob! I am rapidly approaching 80 and I started downsizing about two years ago. It no longer made any sense to hang onto all this “stuff“! My kids have no interest and in some cases. I actually enjoy seeing items go to appreciative next generation caretakers. Wishing you well! Bill.

I think $750 would be a "today price" for the full set, even though they are worth more. Anyone who wouldn't pay that much is just not interested.

If someone does have another complete set out there, I’d be interested.
There’s a long winter ahead - looking forward to some good reading.
Thanks
Clark

Allan Swanson's widow, Jean, would sell his set. He wanted $750 a couple years ago. You can contact her through this site. Message Allan Swanson. She will get the message. I must have deleted his Candia NH phone number, but others here may still have it.

Offer to pay her extra if she ships them in one of Allan's hand made wooden boxes.

Would be happy to, and travel to pick them up if it made things easier.
