I wanted to share a 410 RBL from CSMC I ordered over the summer and have been enjoying this fall. It was a great experience and it was fun to get just what I wanted. I ordered it with 30” M/F barrels 3” chambers, ejectors, splinter forend, double triggers and straight stock to my dimensions.

The gun did wonderful shooting sporting clays and often shot better that you would think a 410 should do. I have been hitting targets way out there with it. I took it to a preserve hunt a few weeks ago and enjoyed it there as well and got every bird I shot at. It’s a pleasure to carry in the field at just under 5lbs.

When I first though about getting a modern 410 sxs, I looked at a few imported options and decided to pay more for something made in the US. So glad I did, this will be a go to gun for years to come and I got it with everything I wanted.

That's a nice one Jay. People are always amazed at what a 28 or .410 can do.

I think shooting a 30" 28ga. VH this past May gave me some inspiration!

And your right, it might take me a few tries, but I can usually figure out most targets with a 410 or 28.

The 30" barrels make all the difference.

Jay , That is an Exceptional Gun !!!!! Congratulations !!!!! I know when I owned the Runge / DelGrego BHE 410 Upgrade Gun , I would often shoot Preserve Birds over Pointing Dogs and it flattened them ! There are scoffers but if choked right they really shoot !

We are planning to come again this year god willing and the creek don't rise and we should have a smallbore event.

Congratulations on your beautiful RBL.

When the RBL-410 was first announced I handed Lou my credit card at the January 2012 Las Vegas Beinfeld Show. I also got double triggers, slim forearm and straight grip stock but they were only offering 28-inch barrels at that time.

Even though it weighs about 3/4 of a pound less than my other .410-bore doubles, because of the tiny frame it has much less weight between the hands and is much easier to shoot. Perhaps the beavertail would have given a bit more weight forward, but I much prefer the slim forearm for looks.

Dave, I have always been a "splinter forend only guy" And that what I wanted on this. Edit Just like yours, even on that small frame a splinter forend just looks and feels better in my opinion

It was a lot of fun to walk into Connecticut Shotgun and spend an hour figuring out just what I wanted. It was a wonderful experience and it took maybe 2 1/2 months from the time I ordered until it was completed. Lou called me to double check a few things and make some suggestions, which I appreciated.

Daryl, I am looking forward to another great Parker shoot in Rhode Island this spring. Looking forward to seeing you and everyone again. We'll have to do some small bore shooting!

That is great Jay, Good for YOU:bowdown:

I for some reason have an itch occasionally for a gun ordered and made here in the US, I hope that opportunity remains an option, but one never knows.

Darn it, now you put another crazy idea in my small brain:crying:

Stan, I don't want to sound over dramatic, but for me this was the closest thing to what it must of felt like to order a Parker. I walked in, looked at different grades/configurations, chose my options and received a wonderful gun made in Connecticut.

I would definitely do it again. I was thinking if I got a 24 gauge I might finally have a chance to win 1st place in something at the Southern!

Jay, that is a beautiful gun. The deep chiseled engraving looks great. I had heard that CSMC didn't have many frames for the scaled frame 410 left, so you are lucky to get yours when you did. My buddy Steve has one and ne loves it. They are great shooters. Can't wait to see yours this spring at your R.I. shoot.

And it is great to see you got Double Triggers.

I may have ordered one if I knew I could get 30" barrels. I thought they were overpriced, but not by much. I also never saw any evidence that there were engraving choices.

I've got about a 4-inch stack of CSMC catalogs I only see the RBL .410 in one.

In addition to the "regular" RBLs they advertised Specials and the RBL Galleria for engraved and gold inlayed versions. In addition there are the Christian Hunter versions.

I'm not on Tony's preferred list for special order guns. $6995 doesn't seem so bad now.

When I found out I could get 30" barrels, double triggers, straight stock and a splinter forend(in a 410) I was sold!

I have a 20 gauge Launch Edition gun (#198)which I really like. Case coloring looks real to my eye, but after a small section on the top rear of the receiver flaked off, I sent the gun back and they restored it without cost.

Considering they are listed right at $12000 now.

Ordering your gun just the way you wanted it must have been what it was like back in the day ordering guns from Parker. Perhaps Tony Galazan is the modern day Charles Parker.

Bill Murphy

The difference is that Charles Parker was giving them away and Tony has no middle men and gets mostly retail.

Would you mind explaining, “Charles Parker was giving them away”. I don’t understand that comment.

Having studied thousands of Parker orders, it is obvious to me that dealers in Parker guns made multiples in profits compared to the makers. Discounts on Parker guns were piled one on top of another so the makers only got a small share of the final selling price. Charles made his fortune on his many ventures other than shotguns.

That is a wonderfully configured and adorned gun. Smart move to order and buy it.
