Hello all.
Don't, yet, own a Parker but I do have a nice Sauer drilling. 16x16 over 7x65R. .22WMR insert that's quite accurate.
Very tight chokes. Factory ammo hits birds fine at long distances but reduces them to dry fly makings in close.
Still looking around the site for low pressure spreader loads. I'm set up to load with cards, hard wads, and plan to roll crimp. Longshot was the only powder available locally.
Thanks for letting me in. Loads (heh) of good information on here. By far the most useful site so far.

Welcome. I also own a Sauer drilling, mine in 16X16X11.15X65. It's a sweetheart, shoots 44 caliber bullets as well as 2 1/2" .410 shotshells. A friend sold it to me for $200 because he couldn't think of anything to use it for. I think there is nothing I can't use it for.

Hi Bill.
That's a great deal. Like you, I can't think of anything else, except my Mannlicher .270, that I'd rather use and that only on antelope.
I love hunting doves and the SxS really is the way to go. I need all the class I can get.

I've got a Mannlicher 30-06 that I like. Great in the woods. Hemingway killed a rhino with an '06. Those little Mannlicher's are strong. Sometimes I load mine up just to see if I can take it. My hunting rifle however is a Pre-64 model 70 in 270. A real beauty. No scope. Nice sling.

I think I've sorted my wad problem. I'll test them tomorrow to see if they spread more.

Those Scouts are nice little hunting rifles. In the early 60s I had a Remington Model 600 in .243. It was my cayote rifle. They also made them in 222 and 308. The 308 was a pre-Scout rifle, Scout rifle. It was a small carbine. Today they are expensive. They cost, at the time, $89. Then came the 788. Another outstanding, but simple rifle.
