The 2025 Virginia and West Virginia Trap Shoots took place at the Winchester Gun Club, July 2 through July 13. Ten days of shooting and 2,600 targets. The best I can say is, it was disappointing. Stiff competition and I was not at my best. In fact, these grounds have proven in the past to be my Achillis heel. Not a lot of Parker highlights here but we still managed to bring home a little bling.
In Event 1 of the Va Shoot, the Parker SAA went 97x100 to take the Class AA Singles title and in the Singles Class Championship the SAA won Open Veteran Champion with a 99x100.
In Event 3 of the West Virginia Shoot, the Parker GHE won Open Doubles Veteran Champion with 93x100. The SAA tied in Event 4, Open Singles Veteran Champion, with a 99x100 but lost the carryover. Then the SAA tied once more with another 99x100 for the Non-Resident Veteran Class Singles Champion and this time won the carryover.
I’ve also attached a picture of me and my shooting companion, Ethan Ledford. This young man is one of the top trap shooters in the country and the No. 1 shooter in Georgia. At this year’s Georgia State Trap Shoot he swept the championships, winning State Singles, Doubles, Handicap, High All Around and High Overall. He defeated me in the shoot off for State Doubles Champion :banghead:, but I forgave him and we remain great friends. At the Virginia State shoot, Ethan went 499x500 in the Singles Events . He shoots a Kolar. I’ll still stick with my Parkers.
Next stop, the Grand American, Sparta, Illinois.
