A true rarity - Parker GH 16ga built on a #2 Frame with 40” Titanic Steel barrels. Hasn’t been offered for sale in 49 years!

HOLEEEEEEE
What is its weight Josh??
I just went to page 1027 of TPS to see if it’s the same gun… but it’s not.

I'm guessing it has not shot many grouse

Is that the longest barreled Parker Brothers gun? Are there more that 1?:corn:

That’s really a cool gun. A gun that leads to a plethora of questions, one might be: Why would the original purchaser order such a gun? (Cure whippiness?)

There was a RIA a couple years ago that had three Parker’s with 40” barrels . A hammer 8 , an EH 10 and a GH 12 .

I've long though this pair of 12-gauges would be pretty outrageous to find --

but a two-inch longer 16-gauge!! Mind is blown!

I believe that gun hung in Shenandoah Guns in Berryville, Virginia many years ago. I don't remember whether it was for sale. Ben Toxvard and I never discussed that gun much, but I held it at least once. I was more interested in the A.P. Curtis try gun that also hung there for many years that was definitely not for sale, until it was.

Wow! What’s the value of something like that? How about close up photographs of the frame? Is a letter available for it and when was it manufactured?

I detest pads but that one would certainly give me pause if choked right! Would love to point those barrels at a Northern Mi turkey!

I know Parkers are know to balance exceptionally well on the hinge pin. Wondered how this extraordinary long gun balances? Crazy cool.

Is the rib matted?

Never shot anything with 40” barrels but I have shot a friends 38” 8 gauge a couple times and it handled and balanced very well or so I thought !

Rib is matted all the way with a usual Titanic rib legend.

Thanks. Another 40” hammerless gun that I have seen had an unmatted rib. I had assumed it was because they could not do a rib that long on the matting machine. Not the case I guess.

Guess you could use it to pole vault over fences.

I would love to take that gun for a test drive on a tower pheasant shoot.
Imagine drawing a line in the sky with a 40" Parker 16.

Nice !!! . I'm with Todd. I would like a report on the test drive . I can't even imagine swinging a 40 in barrel . Maybe some trap shots . Great find .

In my “I gotta try it mentality” I’ve taken Parker 8’s with barrel lengths of 34 and 36 inches to tower shoots and they worked nicely . No I didn’t shoot the 8’s the entire shoot .
