I grabbed what I thought was a decent deal on an EJ Churchill boxlock yesterday from GI. Serial number is 1326. Cabelas salesman didnt know much about it, but said it had scroll engraving on the reciever and a gold "2" engraved on the top latch, and end of forend, so appears to be gun #2 of a set. I've emailed Churchill to see if they have any records of the gun with no luck. Curious if anyone has any knowledge about these Churchill guns.

I suggest you post this question on the doublegunshop forum. They have a very sizable European and international following.

I don’t have the book but, Don Masters authored “The House of Churchill”. It may have serial number date ranges and discussion of the different models.

Nice Churchill should have 2.5 chambers with modern stock dems.

The proof marks will give you some info on the gun.

I should hopefully have it this week. I'll see what else I can find on it.

It looks like a “Churchill 25”… is it?
They are known as the Churchill 25 because of the 25” barrels.

Just looked in the Churchill book page 487 your gun, no 1326, was made in 1902 very nice gun. Churchill was know for their 25 “ guns but I believe the 28” guns swing better. Hope it helps JEFF LANGBEHN
