I’m just about out of my unique powder and unable to locate a new source.
I would like to find a new powder replacing the unique that would work for ;
- 28 gauge target loads 3/4 oz chedite primers AA shells
- 16 gauge 2-1/2” rst 3/4 to 7/8 oz target loads

Also thinking of reducing the numbers of different powders I use
Currently reload 10 reddot, 12 reddot, 16 unique, 28 unique, 410 h110 & lit gun.

The reddot is also very hard to find, so I will need to replace it as well.

So the question is what available power would you suggest to use for 12, 16, 28 target loads only.

Longshot seems to be the new choice. Many people have switched, for 28ga, when they ran out of 20/28, and a friend is loading 17grs in his 2.5" Cheddite 16ga (7/8oz) I find it a bit dirty ,but haven't settled on it as I still have PB and 20/28.
Winchester 572 is another 28ga choice, but it is dirty also.

Hodgdon HS-6 is the sane thing as the old WIN 540 . 540 was the go to Winchester powder for the 28 . I think I used up close to 65 pounds of WIN 540 in the 28 when I was shooting skeet .

I understand not wanting to need keeping to many powders on your shelf . However I took a different approach starting when the Obamite was in office . I started getting any and everything I could find that would possibly work in my applications . And I’ve not been bothered so far by the powder shortages . If you already know your options the question of what to get doesn’t arise , also if you stock up before you need anything helps a bit also .

That's been my philosophy for years now.

Longshot is what your looking for and it's currently available.

Guys thanks for the suggestions.
It looks like Long shot maybe the one to go to.
Lately I just reload for the specialty shells,
12 and 16 (2-1/2”) and the more expensive 28’s and 410’s.
Doing a quick figure on the cost of components a box of 12’s
Cost about $8 per box and I have been buying them thru the club for the same price.

Switched to Longshot for several gauges as powder dried up. Seems like it's slightly dirty, your 1100 might not like it, but I've shot hundreds of rounds in my doubles, love the low pressures. Cheap too.
