The pictures finally uploaded to the auction site and the gun is a grade 2, but wanted to know the original barrel length etc.

Thanks Dean, for the info. It appears the gun is original as built. I will be ordering a letter on it soon.

That is into the late and rare range of Parkers with Damascus barrels. Certainly not the latest but getting there.

Not even close…
From another thread, the “I” is not me, but DrewHuse: “I have recorded that the latest Parker damascus barrels are SN 220,657 GH D3 1927, SN 222,845 DHE D4 1927, SN 227,020 VHE D3 1928, and now SN 230234 DH c. 1928 or 1929 (no record available).”
If this list is still current, I have the 4th to the last one known with Damascus barrels, No 221278.

'Scuse me Ian... I never said it was the last Damascus barreled Parker produced - I merely said it was in the era where Damascus barreled Parkers were rare. Fluid steel barrels had been around for about three decades and the move by PB was to phase out the composite barreled Parkers....
SHEEESH folks are really gettin' the "Shack Nasties" lately... more commonly known as Cabin Fever.

I thought that 25,000 + earlier than the latest ones “wasn’t even close”, but maybe if only a handful out of the last 50,000 contained Damascus barrels…then it must be so.
