I am looking at an early pin fire gun, but I shoot all of my guns and I am trying to figure out if I can get ammunition for it or find a way to reload for it. It is a 12 ga. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I do a lot of reloading but that looks like a lot of effort for minimal returns. Granted, it keeps an old shotgun running, but until you get used to loading those shells, it sure looks like it'll be tedious. Good luck! Let us know how your reloading adventure works out.

Next door neighbor has or had one . I was always scared of the pin sticking out the side so never offered to help with his loading .

Thank you all for the information I will update you if I decide to give it a try. I agree it looks like a lot of work.

I think there is a reason pinfire guns were only around for a short time. It is not a very practical way of ammunition when you consider carrying these loads in the field and reloading them.
