Must have been a studio portrait. The background is a painted canvas it appears, and I can't imagine anyone would shoot in those heavy work gloves.

Yup. Thanks, Arthur. Many antique photos of supposed hunters, shooters, etc. are studio photos. They are still fun to collect.

Ha! If there are Bean Boots hiding behind those furry feet the photo must have been taken post 1912.
