My 12 bore CH,I finally finished the stock ...the finish is'nt gloss ,it's my picture taking skill's that are to blame,I would love any constructive comment's (I wiped the gun down as well, that's what the streak's in the finish are:knowbetter:)
And thank-you to everyone who helped me out along the way:)http://i951.photobucket.com/albums/ad357/_heiko/th_winter2010054.jpg (http://s951.photobucket.com/albums/ad357/_heiko/?action=view¤t=winter2010054.jpg)

Did you use a duplicator, or have someone like Wenigs send you a stock from one of their patterns?

Jerry and Charlie ,thank-you fella's for the kind comment's,I was a little apprehensive about posting my work ...Whew!!!
Bob,the wood in fact is Black Walnut ,the crappy camera washed out the color ...(the screw's:eek: I missed em !!! I'll look after it )
Brent, the finish is in fact true oil ,many, many coat's and many 400 grit sanding's in between (sanded every ten coat's...I usually sand 4-5 time's on a worthwhile job)
The checkering is mine as well,it was my first Parker concave border....my first Parker stock actually....that border is the devil's own when a fella ain't accustomed to it !!!
The pic's also show a glossy streaking which in fact is not there,I wiped her down before I took the pic's with my oily gun rag.
The last one is of me working in my shop,my wife took it unbeknownst to me....I included it so you could see the stock in progress ,second from right
As you can see photography is not my forte;)

Looks good Chris, that skeleton buttplate really dresses it up. I finished the book you gave me, it was excellent.

Exceptionally nice work Chris! Just wondering why you wouldn't have kept with the original Parker Bros. C-Grade checkering pattern?

Nicely done Chris, especially the mullered borders which not many people do correctly. As for constructive comments, it looks like the SSBP needs to be engraved, and the screws should be indexed to 12 oclock position I believe. I think the originals were blued, not case colored, but I might be wrong on that.

Hi Dean,as to the pattern,I had seen so many subtle variation's over the past year on the C grade's with point's and rounded border's that I used one which I thought would match the border on the forend
Hi Mike, the SSBP will be engraved when fund's allow, the screw's are indexed now ..that was a shag up on my part:banghead: they are blued as well ,the camera did some brightening of the color's as with the stock.
Thank-you fella's for the comment's
