I read a post a few years old not long ago about Joe Breda and the ejector hammers he made. Someone was asking if he was still in business and there was a phone number and website listed but no definite answer as to their viability or service.

As luck (?) would have it I was cleaning a gun the other day and when reinstalling the fore end I heard a ping and the left ejector wouldn't cock. I removed the fore end iron and the "L" on the left ejector hammer near the sear had broken off and the small missing piece dropped out.

I looked up the number and email and got a response back quickly. He had some in stock and the price he quoted was essentially the same as he listed when he started making them several years ago. Given the problem of finding these, I ordered two lefts and a right so I would have a full set if I have trouble in the future.

I just sent the order and payment to him.

He lives in California now. I don't know if he still lived in Pennsylvania when he started these. For information if you need it, the numbers are:

The flaw in the Repro ejector hammers is that they overlooked the radiused inside 90 degree angle and through use the hammer would break at that point. Joe knows how to properly make them with the radius.

As far as I know Joe was always in CA since he had started making these. His manufacturing was in Texas with his sons.

I shot Skeet with 3 generations of Breda’s this past weekend.
“That’s the way you do it son”.

Just wondering. I had a long conversation with him discussing ejectors and when we were discussing the winter storm we are preparing for, he said he had lived in Pennsylvania for 30 years and did not miss snow at all.

So how did Mr. Breda's replacement left ejector hammer work out? Parker all fixed up?

Haven't received it yet. It was shipped at the same time the wildfires started and hasn't left California yet. It has been to 3 stations within a hundred miles of LA and is caught in a "Local Weather Delay". My typical luck.

Someone sent me a second day air usps envelope Monday of last week from northern Cali . Supposed to be in my hands Wednesday of last week . It made it to Richmond VA on Wednesday but stayed in limbo the seventy miles between Richmond and Orange until this past Saturday . They can use all the excuses they want , bottom line is the USPS just plain sucks :cuss:

I had a USPS package that tracking showed out for delivery on January 5. I finally received it on the 10th.

I had a gun mailed Priority, a week ago Monday, from Upstate NY. They promised for Friday, but it was delivered Wednesday. Oh Darn...

On a related note FedEx left a package on my front porch at 8:55 PM last night according to our ring doorbell. It was ordered by my daughter and she had it shipped to our house so it wouldn't be on her porch while she was at work. My wife went to bed early and the ring is connected to her phone so I didn't know if was out there until my daughter got an email today saying it was delivered. Fortunately it was still there. I assume once the carrier can show delivery their responsibility ends so if it had disappeared that would be on us?

I often complain about the time required for deliveries to get here from wherever, and there has been a lengthy issue with USPS because they closed a processing facility in Macon and everything was going through Atlanta, but occasionally I am blindsided by how quickly something arrives.

Just prior to COVID-19 I ordered a case of BOSS Cu plated bismuth shells. Order was placed on a Friday morning about 9:30 am. Sunday afternoon it was delivered and left on my front porch by FedEx. I know because we blow off the porches and patio every morning with an electric leaf blower and the package wasn't there Sunday morning, and it was Monday morning early. Michigan to rural GA in 2 days. Crazy fast.

Interesting, on last Monday Jan 6 I sent two Priority Envelopes from PA to vendors in So Cal and OR, and wonder of wonders both were delivered in two days on Wednesday. The So Cal dealer shipped the item on Thursday the 9th by Fedex Express and I received it on Saturday Jan 11. The OR items were also shipped on Thursday by UPSP Ground Saver/Priority and I received them on Monday Jan 13. Perfect on both!

I have an item in route via USPS from Georgia; shipped 1/7, tracking just shows "in route to next facility, arriving late". Hard telling where it is.

About eight years ago I had Bachelder's do some work on a very nice 16 gauge hammer gun. When it was done and ready to ship Brad called me to say I should see it in two days.
After the fourth day of waiting and seeing through tracking that it had been delivered.... But it had NOT arrived at my address.
I called Brad and told him about this and he suggested it may have been stolen from my doorstep like is often read about these days... But before we hung up I suggester he go to his shipping people and find the address to which it had been sent.
Surprise Surprise.... It had been shipped to an address in New Mexico or some such...

But I still didn't receive it until three more weeks. Strangely it was undamaged.
