My grandfather owned a hardware store during the 20's-50's. I was told he left me his Parkers, but they disappeared before being received. His store sold guns. My question is, can guns be tracked by name or the store they were sent to, or can they only be tracked by serial number? Thank you for any help.

They are only recorded by serial number. I wish you luck. How long ago did they turn up missing?

The Parker records will not help you ,only in the fact that your Grandfather received certain guns ,that is if the records even exist . Your best bet to TRACT the gun would be to check his WILL and/or his PROBATE records . There should be a list of his personal property, ie. guns and the disposition of same .

Inheriting and disappearing Parkers. I know how that goes. It took me years to get the VHE20 that my mother left me upon her passing. I was only 17 at the time and I finally physically pulled the gun from my uncles greedy hands when I was 23. He did not want to give it up. Had he not adored my mother he would have sold it for liquor.

He was a serious alcoholic; I doubt he was very picky....
