In speaking with George Purtill, one of our founding members, today, he shared that he is quite ill. He chose not to go into detail, but I'm sure he'd appreciate our keeping him in our thoughts, and include him in your prayers. Please respect his privacy, and I will share any news he chooses to give me.

He will be in my prayers. Met him a few times at the New years shoot and enjoyed his company and wear the PGCA name tag he had made up on my shooting vest. When asked about it i say it is my return to label.

George has been one of my best friends in the PGCA. I spoke with him only about two months ago but he never alluded to a health issue other than his periodic trips to Boston for a chronic health situation that had been going on for a decade.

We kinda lost the frequency of our communication after Kathy’s cancer diagnosis.
Thanks for the notice Edgar.
I’m praying for you George.

I just heard from George. He's in his room and resting, though still a little out of it. It will be a while before he knows what they found. Probably a drone.

A short video my daughter made for her TV show, that made George and I famous (if only in our minds).

Let's see, Grumpy old Men. Edgar as Walter Matthau or Max, and George as Jack Lemmon or John. Now who can we get to play the part of Sophia Loren?:)

Taylar, but they'd have to make her look MUCH older.

Sorry buddy, but Taylar is not even in the same universe let alone the same zip code with Sophia. Just one Italian's opinion of another Italian. Maybe Maria Bartiromo.

Good Saturday to you fine men, even you Corona.
Schmeggler did a good job protecting my privacy so here is a little info but not too much.
On 10/25 after driving my wife crazy with coughing I went to my PCP and he immediately had an X-ray done of my lungs.
I failed.
He scheduled me for a CAT which I also failed, right lung filled with fluid.
My Pulmonologist- happy I already had one- compared the CAT to 3 years prior and after a meeting with him he put me in Hartford Hospital the next day with a Thoracic surgeon who drilled through my back and removed 1.4 liters of nasty red fluid from my right lung. After a Cytology report it was decided that I needed more exploration and on 12/13, I spent 4 hours in the OR with about 15 people and they cut a hole through my right rib cage and stuck in a camera and a John Deere mini excavator to take biopsies.
They haven't given me the full skinny yet- I get reports to my phone that I can't understand- but it is not cancerous but what is causing it I don't yet know and I am not sure they know either.
I was released after two days in the hospital.
My breath is good.
More to learn in the next two weeks.
I have to say the experience has caused me to evaluate what I need to focus on. I have missed our entire hunting season and I will probably reduce my gun collection accordingly.
I have a great family that is close by complete with two new grand-daughters and that is the greatest pleasure.. Oliver keeps me company and Sharon has been a saint in tolerating me.
Stay tuned.
