Weather permitting I will be once again opening up the trap and skeet fields for PGCA members on New Years Day Wednesday 1/1/25. I will have the grounds open by 7:30AM and shooting can start at 9 AM. Please reply if you plan to attend and let us know if you will be bringing some food to share (The outlook for Bill Janelle's venison Billy Chili is good).
Like everything else in life Non-Member cost per round of skeet or trap has increased to $7.
For those who haven't been to MWSA before the address for your GPS is:
339 Franklin Pierce Hwy
Barrington, NH 03825

Update 12/27/2024. I have been watching the extended forecast and it is continuing to show a steady rain from 7AM to 4PM on New Years Day for Barrington NH. Hopefully it will change. Shooting clays in a cold steady rain is not much fun and I am guessing most of us don't want to subject our guns to that weather either.
I will give an update on whether the NYD shoot is a go or a no go around Noon time on 12/31/24. Watch here for the update/decision.

Thanks Pete - it would surely be uncomfortable and no, I wouldn’t want to subject my nice Parkers to that kind of weather.

I am very disappointed but the Weather Man is not cooperating. The forecast here for tomorrow is for a steady rain overnight to 10AM followed by showers. Not only is it unpleasant but with all the rain and the ground thawed the parking lot and fields will probably be a mucky mess.
I will check with the club officials about us getting together on MLK day on Monday January 20th if any of you have interest in getting together then.

I will be there hope the weather cooperates.
Pete & Scott I have used your 10 gauge load, you mentioned at last years New Year’s Day shoot. The gas seal and 12 gauge wad, the red dot for some trap shooting and it works well, very easy to shoot.
I’m doing a pheasant tower shoot this spring and was thinking of taking the 10 gauge. I have got some lead numbers 6’s and wondered if you had any suggestions on a load ?

I can’t answer for the two you asked but I use a 10 gauge at most tower shoots I do anylonger . And I use my old stand by Ross Seyfried load of 30 grains of SR7625 1 1/4 ounces shot an SP-10 wad and a 16 gauge 1/8” card in the bottom of the shot cup . I typically put an over shot card over the shot inside the folded crimp to cut back on any shell length deviations and shot leakers . I use that same charge etc for most applications of the 10 be it any size bird shot , bismuth or buckshot as long as they’re all in the 1 1/4 to slightly heavier realm .
