A friend of mine inherited this from his father and is thinking of selling it. He asked me to see what I can find out. It also has another barrel with it that looks newer. I’ll attach more photos as needed

Grade 2 GH 12 gauge 30” Damascus barrels no mention of a second set of barrels . Second set I’d say are nowhere near factory .

The gun is a GH grade Damascus. The extra barrels are aftermarket.

The gold on the receiver is an addition and is not normal for the grade. I cannot tell if it is let inlays or just a wash or something.
The checkering has been butchered up pretty bad. Especially on the forend.

In the late 50s - 60s Atlas Arms in Chicago sent lots of Parker damascus barrels for replacement to ARMAF in Belgium. The Lefevers sent barrels to Italy, made by one of the Bernardellis of Brescia. Somebody also sent barrels to Armi Sarezzo.
The 2nd barrels carry the Italian date code XXI for 1965. There may be a maker's mark on the R flat.

I would say that the wood on the forend has been replaced based on the wood to metal fit and the checkering being wrong. It looks like there is a PSF and a partial crown on the new barrel flat

Atlas advertised finishing and fitting. Obviously Lefever could have done that also

Cracks in the stock as well. He was told it is worth 2500 to 5000?
Does that sound right. Seems high to me. based on what I’m learning on here.

B Dudley is right on. Plus crude gold inlays, and the buttstock is also cracked in the wrist. It's only worth what someone's willing to pay. You'd be lucky to get the bottom end of what your friend thinks it's worth.

The gun is worth nowhere near that range that he thinks.

Jason , If you are contemplating this gun and the seller is a friend if it were me I would get on Gun Broker and find a half dozen or so similar condition guns for sale and a few in the price range where he thinks he should be and show him the Seven and Eight hundred Dollar guns that are getting a bid or two and the Guns in this condition with higher starting prices and are having no bids !!!!! Condition is everything and as Brian said this gun is not in the range of what your friend has been told ! Just My Opinion !!!!

He has no idea what it’s worth just what he was told. He has a history of not getting the best end of gun trades so I wanted to check and see what it is, before he says he traded it for something worth half of its value. Does the Atlas barrel add anything as far as making it a shooter? I know that’s how his dad used it. I thought I might be interested before I saw it now I think I’ll pass.

The Atlas barrels are the most valuable part of this gun.

We can't confirm those are Atlas barrels. Most were marked E.S.C. Vickers

Another Atlas barrel

On a good day the GH if the barrels look decent inside and are still 30” I might say $600ish the fluid steel barrels would add nothing for me , however for others they might add some value . The gold wash on the bottom I’d be intrested in having removed so that’s another negative . Hate to sound overly negative but that’s my view .

I think if the original and the replacement barrels are choked differently, it may be of more interest as a shooter.

Austin I think if I had obtained that gun cheap I’d send the fluid steel barrels to Briley for screw ins .

Do you have any idea what Briley screw in choke installation costs these days? I live with my tight chokes.
