This was up last Thursday night and gone by 9 AM Friday. Gun appeared in great shape. Price: $7995, that's right, $7995!

Hard to believe an original 20b Super-Fox was advertised at that price, especially by CSMC who would know what it is.

Would anyone post the original ad? This is hard to believe.

I found the ad, the gun is high condition. This may be Tony's idea of a joke. A 20 in that condition would be a $20,000 gun.

If so, joke is partially on me. I immediately emailed them and said I'd take it and to call me first thing Friday for my payment instructions. Instead, "Rich" sent me a payment link. I needed more information about C/C instructions so I called immediately after getting email. He was on the phone, but the guy who I talked to, whose name I can't recall, said sorry, but he (other guy) had JUST sold it to somebody else! Needless to say, I was very upset, but what could I do?
I don't own any Foxes (yet) but I'm looking. This would have been a helluva start. I would have used it, and then left it to my son. i was NOT trying to make a quick buck.

It would be nice to see the ad. It's probably the suspect HE 20 that RIA sold a few weeks ago.

Yeah, what was the true story about that one? I kind of thought that one was real.

The one and only original HE 20 that i have had the opportunity to handle/buy was some 15 yrs. ago, and was for sale at about $24K, AIR.

It was mesmerizing, and handled great, very much unlike what so many armchair experts have said about the handling characteristics of them.

To bad that Tony doesn't normally share the serial numbers on the guns he advertises unless you call. What's the latest on the recent ad and gun?

Tony sold it for about the same price he paid for it (which was still too little) ??

I don’t think Tony has his ear to the ground anymore…

The serial number is 202125 and the gun matches the factory card. No way to tell if its right without a careful inspection of the gun. My feeling is it has been recase colored and reblued. I'm very doubtful it's a real 20ga HE. Tony knows his Fox guns.

Hmmm… I didn’t consider it might have been faked when it was refreshed.

The RIA ad said the gun was upgraded and renumbered. The CSMC ad left out that information.

Whoever bought this out from under me saved me a lot of grief. Quote from RIA catalog:

"This gun has been upgraded and renumbered from its original Sterlingworth configuration to closely resemble a rare 20 gauge Super-Fox. Chambers measured 2 3/4" with ejectors, chokes measured full/full, and 14 1/8" LOP."

Fools rush in....

RIA sold 202124 in their May 2023 auction --

129334

129335

129336

Another totally refinished gun.

Is this the same gun that sold on Gunbroker last week? I had decided (in my own mind) that that gun was not a fake. It sold before I could call the seller and get him to measure the frame dimensions. I didn't realize until after the sale that the dimensions of an HE 20 gauge frame were different from a Sterlingworth 20 gauge frame.

I am pretty sure it is the same gun. Can't compare the serial numbers but he left side of the stock has a distinctive light colored vertical curl which looks to be present in the same place in both pictures.

Could someone explain what "re-numbered" means? Are we talking serial number??

Dean Romig

Yes, I believe so.

Until I can see and measure the frame on that gun, I'm still thinking it may be real.

The RIA price was a good deal for the price of $2350. I would love the see the side engraving and frame in person

I am of the opinion that CSMC is simply an acronym for “Buyer Beware”.

… Instead, "Rich" sent me a payment link…

Hearsay,
An employee of the gentlemen (I may have mis spelled scoundrels) in Connecticut mentioned that “Rich” is actually Tony when he picks up the phone and doesn’t want to be identified.
Calls himself “Rich Wilson” .

You hear so much bad about these folks ,No Pun Intended but it makes you " Gun Shy ! I intended to buy or at least place respectable Bids for the CHE 28 Gauge that just went off on Gun Brokera week or so ago , which they have had for sale for a couple of years I believe , but was being sold on GB by Them I felt pretty certain under a different name , and just watching People that had never ever won a Gun on Gun Broker Bidding 20 Grand Plus on their first bidding foray , I just couldn't believe and Don't believe for a minute the auction was any where close to a True Auction ! Just Saying ,I quit bidding around 12 Grand ! This of course is just the way I saw things but I know the first purchase I made on GB was around $600.00 just to get my feet wet and with much anxiety !
