Here is another one in the works. This one a 20g with a Grouse as the subject.
Good work Geoffroy!

Here are the finished photos of this 20g repro. I restocked the gun to the customers specs, wiped out the bottom engraving for Geoffroy to do the C grade style grouse. Turnbull case colored the frame. I did the nitre blue. The barrels are untouched.

I like everything about it, except I still am not wild about Turnbull's interpretation of Parker case colors.

I will add, Brian gets it right when he does the heel of the comb! One of my biggest objections to the original Repro treatment.

“Heel” of the comb?
Are you referring to the rounded heel of the stock where the rounded skeleton steel butt plate is inletted?

Yes.
What do you call it?

I was simply asking for clarification. I guess I’ve always called it the stock heel or just the heel but heel of the comb defines it better I suppose.

Terminology is always up for debate, but since we call that 'corner' the heel. and we call the bottom the 'toe' ( I like heel and toe plates on nice English guns), and it's generally accepted that we call the pointed end of the comb the 'nose', it just seems logical we call the rear corner of the comb the 'heel of the comb'.
All of that notwithstanding, 'that' part of the Repro stock has a larger radius than either a Meriden, or Illion stock.

I completely agree Edgar!
