I have recently aquired a 16 ga PH with twist steel barrels.
I shoot and have shot several Damascus guns but am unfamiliar with the twist barrels. Are they suitable for lite shells?
Appreciate any thoughts..
Thanks,
Bill:vconfused:

Bill I have a 16ga PH Twist also and if the wall thickness is good and the barrels are sound you can use lite shells just like a Damascuss gun. I use the equivelent of the RST 2 1/2 shell.

I'll take the Ithaca out for it's maiden voyage Sunday.

My 1877 vintage Lifter, with 'Plain Twist' barrels, handles Polywad Vintagers without any issues. The bores were pitted badly, and are now .755" (11 bore!). The ribs required some straightening and resoldering, while a large ringed bulge was removed near the right muzzle. All in all, they were a soup sandwich, but were given a new lease on life by Brad Bachelder. Brad also applied a cool brown finish to restore the patterns. They are also, probably, genuine Parker-made Twist. Cheers!

Bill,

I have two 1881 Lifter Parkers. One is a 10 gauge the other is a 12 and I shoot them all the time at birds and sporting clays.

Good Shooting, Harry
