Made the deal with Mr.Bishop before we went to Hausemann’s and picked it up there . An EH factory original 28” that’s consecutive serial number to the EH 28” I already had . Both left the factory the same day shipped to the same place . Sadly this one had a pad added before I acquired it , the pad was caved in so it has a KickEez now . With comb risers it oughtta be fine for the Koneski Grouse Walk next month with 1 or 1 1/8 ounce loads .

Only because I know you will take it well Craig,

A gun with that elegance really needed an orange pad:whistle:

Let me get this straight. You are planning on doing the grouse walk with a 10ga?

Did it last year with a factory 26” hammer 10 and came in second . This gun and it’s match left the factory cylinder and lite full . Last year I used 1 1/4 ounce this year it’ll be 1 or 1 1/8 ounce loads .

That pad matches the pad I put on the NH 34” gun before I went to Hausemann’s

Just saying... grouse hunting and 10ga aren't even in the same zip code.:nono:

Where that gun came from I’d almost be willing to bet it was carried in grouse cover . Heck if we do the annual quail shoot at Rasawek this fall I might take this thing along with a handful of 1 ounce shells .

You guys don't know what your missing, a 2 frame 10ga with 1oz loads and 28" barrels open chokes is a fine upland gun. Craig is just ahead of the times.

That could very well be but I couldn't imagine lugging that gun around all day.

There were many grouse killed with a 10. I have no clue about a "grouse walk."

1 1/8 oz. of shot is 1 1/8 oz of shot -- through a 12 or a 10...and the shot column would be shorter in the 10.

I like the idea of a 2 frame 10. Good shooting, Craig!

I used that 10 gauge 26” hammer gun also on a 2 frame last fall and after the usual morning walk of 2.5-3 hours I’d had enough of carrying that thing .

Seems to me I have four 10’s on two frames . The pair of EH 28” , the Grade 1 two barrel set 26/30 and an 1889 EH 30” .

Yes sir !

I have an 1874 2 weight 10 hammer and it is as light as a lot of 12 ga doubles.

Don't let'em razz you Craig. I shoot high flying Whitewing Doves with a 2 frame 10 gauge. Get one of our hot, windy South Texas afternoons and the birds are high and fast out comes the 10, some 1 1/4 loads, and some 30" barrels. That'll put birds on the ground for your dog and the "Girly Men" with their 28's get a lesson and fetch my refreshments!

I was at a tower shoot this past December . I’d brought two guns a DH 10 and a DH 8 . The guy to my left was shooting a very nice K-80 12 , big high flying pheasant came straight at him he shot twice no cigar , I happened to have the 8 in my hands , one shot the pheasant fell within 15 feet of him
! I’ll give it to him though after I dropped the bird he clapped his hands . I might add that pheasant was a good 40+ yards up in the air .
