Yesterday while searching for some powder I stumbled across a site called "Midwest Reloads". They had every powder I searched for in all sizes and great prices:nono: Red flag went up. I checked with Scott K and asked him what he thought. He agreed with me that they are probably a scam. Today I googled them and review after review came up that they are a scam basted out of the Philippines. Just a heads up.

There have been a lot of these types of sites over the last several years with powder/primer shortages. The telltale sign is they want Venmo, Zelle, or some similar form of payment app, and won't accept a credit card.

Another giveaway is that they won't use PayPal's api. You'd think if one could make such a nice, smooth, full featured storefront website they could figure out how to integrate payment.
Be safe out there friends!

I belong to another gun collector's association and one of our members recently was scammed on the purchase of a firearm. Many of the members reviewed, studied & made comments admiring the gun and none of us surmised the advertisement was a scam.
Unfortunately we all probably need to raise our awareness of these scams when purchasing items off the internet.

In the last few months I have scored primers, powders and wads at various venues I go to shoot. No hazmat, no taxes and no shipping. Sometimes you can't get exactly what you want but after 50 yrs reloading I've learned to adapt.

You are spot on, they have been around since the shortages following the pandemic started. If they don't take payment by a credit card, don't walk away......RUN. The other obvious sign is they have products in stock other legitimate sites don't and often with a better price to lure the naive and those who believe they struck gold and found something others don't know about. Stick with long established companies that existed before the pandemic that we have dealt with before and as Koneski says buy it from them when you see they have it. Don't buy what you need right now, buy what you will need in a few more years. Sites like Shootingbot.com are your friend, but again make sure the distributor who has what you are looking for takes CC's and it's a well established name.

Be scared of any vendor that won't take major credit cards or Paypal! Those that want only the cash type payments are 99.9% scam! Pete is correct on sites that appear to have products nobody else has, what they will have is your $$ with no way to recover it.
