Carl Brandt has agreed to represent the PGCA for the 2012 Challenge. Carl is from Richmond and shooting is his passion. He will bring experience and enthusiasm to the event. I want to thank Carl and I hope you will as well.

Mark, Please allow me to thank you for your many years of hard work and dedication to co-organizing and managing the PGCA vs. LCSCA Challence Cup event. It's guys like you that the PGCA couldn't exist without.

Carl, Thank you for taking on this event ane I have complete faith that you will do a fantastic job for the PGCA.

Mark, Thank you for all your hard work on this great event for the past eight years as I am sure this is no easy task coordinating all the things that must "Fall into place" to pull this off.

The big question is "Has Carl recruited Mark Conrad to try out for the Parker Team?".

Mark Conrad

I appreciate the kind words. It is time to pass it on and Carl is the perfect guy for the job.

Bill, don't expect much. I have spent too much time in my other addiction.

Let me tell you guys that Mark has his A game on. Or should I say "AA" game. Last Saturday Mark was shooting lights out, so anyone who wants to beat him had better be practicing up. We're looking to take back the Cup this year so please plan to be there and shoot for the team.

Anyone who wants to fine tune their gun fit, please stop by the little blue tent at the back of the red F-150 and I'll be glad to help.

Looking forward to seeing you all there.

Carl.

Mark, do you still have the green one?

Let us know if you're selling off any Parkers to finance this expensive addiction:whistle:

Mark - Thank you for all your work on the Challenge Event, from the frustration and challenge of creating the event the first year to the 8th annual event (Wow!). Your hard work and dedication has made the event possible.

Carl - Thank you for volunteering to take the lead on the Parker/LC Challange. You have some very large shoes to fill but I know you will be successful in taking this on and improving the event in future years.

The green one was traded in on an Avalanche. Great vehicle.

Tom, I appreciate the kind words. I also appreciate all the hard work Tom has put in behind the tables signing folks up, answering questions and all the other stuff that has to be done to have a successful weekend.

This year we are going to be without Tom and Allan and Charlie will not be there Saturday and Sunday. So, we can use some help at the display area, especially on Saturday and Sunday.

Mark,
You already know how I feel about all of your years of service and hard work.
Thank you.

Guys we are very lucky to have Carl stepping up to the plate. Many of you do not know this but Carl's family ( I believe grandfather) is from Meriden.
We have a true blood, Parker flows thru his veins.
Thank you Carl.

It's true. I was born in Meriden, Conn, USA, just like my favorite guns, about a mile from the old plant... Except for the few born in Illion, NY.

Thanks to all for their votes of conficence. I will most likely be asking for your help at next year's Challenge. A BIG THANKS to Mark for all his hard work, which will make stepping into his shoes that much easier.

Carl.

PS: As of today, it looks like the weather for the Southern will be great. Highs in the upper 70s to mid 80s with chance of precipitation at 10% or less. Looking forward to seeing you all again.

OK, OK...This year if any of the Smith guys need my help, I'll put the foam on their stock and the electrical tape on their glasses. "Really, this is the way to do it...and don't forget to breathe through your eyelids!"

I hate to admit it, but I have the secret for grabbing the 2011 trophy. Apparently, one or more Fox Collectors Association hotshots may participate this year. Whichever team manages to recruit the best of the Fox shooters will gain a target or two.

Carl - should they inhale or exhale before taking the shot? I always forget.

I know Mike and Frank can shoot pretty doggone good - who else? I'm sure there are others. If they bring us some extra target points and we take the Cup I promise to go easy on them at Addieville.

Bill Murphy

Roger Bain can shoot with Mike or Frank. Unfortunately, he is too busy with his booth to both qualify and shoot the final. A few years ago, he was denied a place on our team after shooting the highest qualifying score with Henry Bartholomews Becker duck gun. He and John Allgood will be at the Southern and can shoot with the best of team members. John will also be too busy with his booth to shoot the Challenge.

Sorry, I was ninety miles into my trip today and had to turn back. Linda's brother had a tornado emergency in Trenton, Georgia and needs water, gasoline, a big generator, plywood, a water pump, and hotel reservations. Long story, but I will not be at the Southern. What a bad situation. He suffered severe destruction, but some of his neighbors have only foundations. I don't have time to ask, but maybe some of our members could ask if our friends have suffered and need assistance.

Dean Romig
04-28-2011, 09:27 PM
Bill, I'm sure you and Linda will be missed by all but "You gotta do what you gotta do". It's so sad to see and hear what devastation has been wrought on so many people in the path of those tornados... and the loss of life, around three-hundred now.
Godspeed to you. Dean
