very interesting to see x2 strain screws on each side. First lewis I've seen like that. It would be interesting to see what type of mainsprings it has.

If it helps with the screw question, the gun was made in 1901.

The extractor Lewis guns had four screws on each side and the ejector Lewis guns had five screws.
Ed, is that the same No. 4E pictured on page 295 of the Second Edition of Walter Snyder's book? The book attributes the engraving to Ed Latham.

Probably the nicest I've ever seen! I had a grade 3 Lewis with chain link damascus that I wish I had never sold.
